The "LBP 1 Only" option Questions

Archive: 15 posts

Someone brought up the feature to set a level to "LBP 1 ONLY" status.

2 Questions :

1) Is this done from within LBP 2?

2) Is this toggle-able both on and off?

Yeah, if I remember correctly you press square over your LBP1 level in LBP2. You turn it on and off just the copyable option.2011-01-19 19:15:00

To my mind this feature does not exist... as in the throes of sleep deprivation (STUPID World Record)... I deleted all my published levels. I thought I was just taking them off LBP2 because... do to the Lie that is Backwards compatability... they were either broken... or worse, UGLY. So I hope you got a chance to enjoy 'em casue they gone now! No LBP! feature that I know of... I'm interested though!

edit: Now this is the important stuff to creators up front... the transition... didn't see a tutorial for this!

What do you mean, lie?
It's still playable, innit?
The fact you need to tweak the levels due to changes in the engine, or whatever does NOT mean the levels aren't backwards compatible.

In LBP 1? I'm in LBP 1, can't find the option.

That's crazy! What about the people that aren't intending to get LBP2?

How far do I have to get in LBP 2 before it will let me access my online planet?2011-01-19 20:17:00

When you first run LBP2 if you import your profile from LBP1 it should let you do it as soon as you get past the intro.

It's a great way to sell software

I think all that "creativity" I tried to use in LBP1 has backfired... many of my levels are working REALLY strange.

Actually.... I think that if you have to do a bunch of changes... that is the definition of "not backwards compatible"... In "Vertigo!" I realized last night that the things you shoot don't blow up....

Ah, well, there was my mistake. I didn't bother to do that since I wasn't actually ready to "start" LBP 2 yet.

@Compher- yes, i think so I'm very tired.. think I only deleted the seperate workshops... that makeup the levels... still, that means even more work if I ever want to republish in two!!!

...and I still haven't seen this option.

I dunno.
I thought the definition of NOT backwards compatible would be: Doesn't work. At all. Don't try it, this won't work on this software/hardware, period.

Kinda like how you can't play PS2 games on your PS3. (Assuming you have a new enough model.)

The Xbox 360 IS backwards compatible with some or most of it's Xbox library. Of course, to do this, they write an emulator to run the particular game.
Comparable to having to change things in your level.

This is probably an option I will use with all my LBP1 levels (already done it with some). I'd much rather have a fresh start and not have them there at all in LBP2.

One thing I have noticed, even if you select this option, they still show up on your own 'Earth' when in LBP2. I would rather them be gone completely, or at least hidden with the option of still showing them.
