Thanks!
It's a rather flashy shirt literally. You know that green tree on the front? Well, it's like one of the sackboy skins that move. I tried it on in the beta and stickered it and,the tree continues to flash which I don't mind actually.

Five dollars?

Really?

When did nickel and diming become dollar and fiving?

I mean, I put in the extra $20 for the CE but...Five is just way too much for a shirt.

The spaceman suit rerelease is awesome, though.

It's not like you have to buy the shirt...

It's on the second page of the in-game store. You don't have to search for it on the psn shop.

EDIT: Spaceman costume is now up on the last page of the store.

Buy it or not, it's still ridiculous, considering any given costume pack costs a dollar more and has about three extra costumes to it.

Well, at least it's completely optional...

I guess I'm miffed because it's so underwhelming.

Costume packs cost 6 and come with a variety of costumes and pieces that you can mix together and paint over and make brand new ones...but this is just a shirt.

Seems a bit lazy or capitalizing on popularity, which is something I'm not particularly fond of when it comes to add-on content.

I agree with the gentleman above me. I have made dozens of different costumes with 5 dollar packs that come with many more items. Its pretty sad of them to just Market a icon on a t-shirt like that.2011-01-19 03:53:00

Looking at the "Heads Up" Store update on the EU blog, the week 1 t-shirt is not on the list. Only the spacesuit is there. That'd better just be a mistake... :kz:2011-01-19 14:03:00

it's a nice shirt, I got mine earlier today. It's in the add-on section under LBP2, it's one of the only 2 costumes for LBP2 other than the space suit.2011-01-19 14:09:00

Heads up UK dwellers, search "rare t-shirt" on PS Store, the icon of the DLC just shows sackboy naked with his grapplehook, but it's there thank god. Oh and for those wondering it's ?3:992011-01-19 15:55:00

I'm going to have the game in just a few short hours, but just so all you Australians know, both costumes are out.

Spacesuit: PS3 Games > Add on Content > And it's either in Little Big Planet, or next to that option
Rare Shirt: Click on the Search Button > Type in Little Big Rare > It's the first one there

Also, the Cake, Sacktue and Turkey costume still appear on my PlaystationStore...

Well you can, but it obviously won't work, but it will be in your download history at the store, so you won't miss out because you can download it again when you do get the game.

Yeah AUS $8.45 for one costume, are they kidding?, what a blatant rip off!
And this is coming from somebody that has been stupid enough to purchase every costume & other DLC for LBP1
I hope this is not a new pricing structure for LBP2 costumes.

At least the Spaceman costume is back for free, I thought it would make a reappearance when LBP2 was released, I'm sort of expecting we might get a rehash of other costumes that went MIA over the years as well.

I'm still waiting to get an email to say my pre-order from 11 Dec of LBP2CE is being shipped, not a happy chappy atm as it still says processing, and it's release day here.

Seriously, is it even worth it? All it is is an animated sticker, and you can make the sticker yourself, so basically paying $5 for the animation alone ($1 per frame , also, PSHome anyone?) People say it will become "rare" but really? Hundreds are buying it right now. How will it be rare? Think of how many people who have waited for this game, saved up money, and bought it on day one. I can't see it becoming rare at all.2011-01-20 01:31:00

I'll have to pass on the shirt. I like it, but $5 for a shirt seems a bit overboard. I saw in an interview today during the world record thing that one of the developers said more people seem to be interested in the DLC costumes than anything else. I like costumes, but I'd rather spend my $5 on level kits, music, creation tools, etc.2011-01-20 02:17:00

Yeah if you're going to have a reward for being an early adopter, it should be a FREE reward.
I've already been pretty screwed with the UK collectors edition, I'm not paying another ?5 for a t-shirt you can't even see on screen

Well, I guess the price tag add's to it's exclusivity.

P.S. This should really be in "Everything Else LBP2."

I can't even find the Week One shirt on my store. D: The store planet is very hard to navigate to find new stuff, and unless it's on the LittleBigPlanet 1 store it must not be in the UK store yet, because there is no LBP2 store on the UK PSN shop.2011-01-21 11:09:00

I think its far too much money but it was the same with LBP 1 so it didn't suprise me. I've bought entire games cheaper than the price of that shirt.2011-01-21 16:31:00

I think some are forgetting that when the original LBP was released they also released a rare t-shirt for the same price. It's not for everyone (myself included) but it's a premium product that made available for 1 week (based on the previous examples).

I wouldn't worry about this becoming the new standard price point of single costumes

In terms of having to pay - MM know people will buy it for the exclusivity, and although we all know that they can do no wrong, unlike the big bad corporate monster that is Activision ( ) they are still a business first and foremost, and that means they need to make money. And they know people will pay - we can't complain about price when it's people like the people on here who are so fanatical that they make MM think they can get away with the price

Anyway, already a thread, as mentioned. lock?

The LBP2 T-Shirt is quite nice but i wish they brought back the old Week 1 T-Shirt because it was the only T-shirt that could be properly stickered so you could make your own colours & logos effectively customizing your
T-shirt. The PSP shirt and the LBP 2 shirt are pretty much un-stickerable

Daylight robbery. When I first heard of it, I was like "Yeeeeah! Collectable!" Then when I heard about the price my jaw hit the floor. I know it's collectable and all... but ?4!! It's not even that nice... Besides for a pound more you could buy a Marvel Costume pack featuing tons more usable and creative costume pieces...2011-01-23 20:21:00

It's a very annoying price, but there is something in the back of my head saying get it. Perhaps I should get a controlinator and recreate 9/11 with my face on the WTC... I only have ?9 on my PSN, so if any cool DLC's pop up i am gonna be very annoyed. for controlinators and MM!!!!!<32011-01-24 12:59:00

i know! if only we could like give each other paid DLC with sackbots. sheesh!

Now, lets check this out.

Lots and lots and lots of people have LBP 2, so that means MM = Lots of money

MM needs to pay its workers, still means MM = Lots of money

someone in the MM studio moves to lets say a mansion, uses some of his cash gotten from work MM = Little less cash

MM needs to buy food and stuff MM = Less cash

Someone buys a DLC = MM gains like five bucks or so

Someone shares that DLC with everyone = No income

MM gets so poor they cant afford a building and servers MM = No more.

Meaning LBP 2 = No more

So, as crazy as that sounds, no, thats a horrible idea. MM has every right to charge you five dollars.

Yup, & we have every right not to pay the exorbitant fee for such a crappy piece of phoned in DLC.

If they'd have only charged something like ?1.50 then I might have bought it - and even then, would have considered it a rip-off... so really, all they've done by putting on a big price tag is sold less shirts than they otherwise would have.
Wether they would make more money selling it to less people for a higher price is the gamble they are taking... but it shows that they don't really care about giving the community content that they want, they obviously care more about the money.
And it's not like they need to keep all those shirts in a warehouse or anything, it's just DLC.

I'm dissapointed in MM, and it's going to make me question the value of any future DLC, more than I otherwise would have

They have given the community the content that they want. The community over multiple threads declared their desire for a week one T shirt and their dissapointment at missing the previous games week one T shirt. The community knew how much previous week one T shirts had cost and were generally saying they would be happy to pay that much for a new one, some hoped it would cost less but there was also a few crazies saying they'd pay even more.2011-01-25 09:31:00

Hmm, well that differs from my experience... the general reaction being "$5 for a virtual T-Shirt?! - they must think we're stupid" ;

But if what you're saying is true, then maybe they're right. Because I remember the same reaction to week 1 T-Shirt for LBP - that it was over-priced for what it was.

It depends when the topic is. There's alot of the I'm not paying that posts now because it's a current event, a few months ago it was posts about I hope they do one and a few months from now it'll be posts about being dissapointed that they missed it.

I've also noticed 3 main groups on the issue.

I want this but can't afford it.
I can afford this but I'm not paying that much just for a shirt
I have bought this and feel a need to explain why I did to those that are saying it is a rip off so I can justify the amount of money spent on it.

I'm sorry but this thing is over-priced. you can get far better stuff for a buck more or even the same amount. It is a single SHIRT that I would probably never wear. It should be $0.99 or $1.99 not $4.99. Talk about taking your fan base for a ride.2011-01-26 18:56:00

Yeah The glow part is cool but I guess I just meant on the create side its just a t shirt. I now just view costumes as a level create tools. I meant no offense.
