How to get around Intro profile upgrade freeze

Archive: 28 posts

DO NOT CONNECT TO INTERNET LOG off PSN AND Disconnect from INTERNET altogether
playing offline will let you do my solution and do all the offline stuff till MM and sony fixes online freeze issues
When i 1st played LBP2 it froze my PS3 after i replided yes to uploading My current LBP profile. And it Froze.
I then reset PS3 put in LBP1 and backedup profile current profile then disconnected my PS3 from internet.

Played thru the intro to pod, then imported last profile save and sat thru intro agin till in pod and all is fine

So when it asks you in the beginning of the game to import the file, you deny, then after playing through the intro level, while being in pod, you manually select to import the lbp1 profile. If I understood right, the success of this method has no connection to whether the game is online or not?

Same case as the Beta, you cant use the auto-import button from the startup screen or else everything will turn to derp.

I was offline when I did it, but I don't know if that matters. But yeah, just say no to the import option and then do it after you get to your pod. It froze on me twice in a row when I first started, but after re-installing and denying the import, it worked fine 2011-01-18 21:08:00

can't even explain how much frustration I'm experiencing. I'm literally about to be moved to tears because as soon as the intro is ABOUT to play it freezes...I can't play the game period and I'm being offline didn't help so hoping sehven's plan works or else I'll freak out so badly :/

this is unacceptable and especially after all that talk of it hitting GOLD

Nooo.... I really am loosing faith in media molecule and lbp alltogether.... They promised a near glitch free game... But... They delayed it so they could fix it... But... They lied.2011-01-20 17:52:00

Please, can you stop moaning on all these threads about how "I've lost faith in Mm" and "LBP2 has let me down...", because
A: You (and me) don't have the game yet, so you don't know how severe it is (I doubt it is very).
B: Games have glitches. They will be fixed. LBP1 had far worse glitches than this, so we should be thankful for that.
Besides, playing offline is only a very minor setback. Just play offline for a while, it'll all be better soon.

THIS

It's not SO bad...but it was a horrible experience when i didn't know about this fix...and after the intro everything else is pretty ok...it won't freeze as much or at all so its pretty good...I'm just hoping Mm will fix this sooner rather then later as well as joining issues online

Actually, I don't think it matters all that much whether you're connected to PSN or not, just don't import at the first prompt (like the beta) and it might be a good idea to clean house on your profile before bringing it in. I've been online (in story and create) since the first day with no signs of freezing. See this:

This trick didn't work for me. I'm still freezing every time I go to upgrade. I booted up LBP, backed up my profile, turned off the internet, turned on LBP2, got through the intro, got to the pod, and tried to import my account. It is still freezing. Is there something I missed?2011-01-20 20:29:00

another way is to press no to import your lbp1 file, finish the intro, finish davinci's laggy levels, then while in pod, press start, go to settings, go to profile settings, then press import objects from littlebig planet.. then you are done.2011-01-21 01:09:00

I didn't realize at the time, but I didn't actually import my profile after I got to the pod. All I did was import my objects/costumes, not the levels on my moon. When I tried again, it froze again. Guess I'll have to export all my levels in lbp and import them one by one into lbp2, and hope none of them make it freeze.2011-01-21 04:48:00

As a precaution, I disconnected from Playstation Network and didn't import when it asked me to. Instead I did the intro level, went back to pod and here's your answer TREMIC1, went to:

Pause menu> settings> profile> import profile.

Worked perfectly, did not freeze and never has since.

I had no problems whatsoever. The game has yet to glitch or crash and all my stuff auto-imported without any problem. Well, it does seem like there's a lot less stuff in my stickers and decorations than there used to be, but my levels and custom costumes and costume bits all seem to be there...

So it's not the apocalypse, chances are you'll be fine!

I'm still having the problem. What's super annoying is that after I attempt to import and crash, when I start up next time, it automatically tries to import without even asking, which also results in a crash. They only way I can get out of this is to delete my LBP2 profile, but then I'm back at square 1!2011-01-23 01:41:00
