Hey guys! I see this area of the forum is still fresh so no better time than now! I'm going with what I love and I'm going to be making HD video game walkthroughs on youtube. What better place to start than little big planet 2! I'm at the university right now, but I will be home tonight to upload more videos and hopefully get up a world a week (first one is already done). So please come and support me as I know all of us want a new platinum trophy with sackboy on it! My channel is: http://www.youtube.com/user/McFlurriez?feature=mhum Enjoy! - McFlurriez EDIT: I have to update my ps3 card! I have the platinum for LBP! ![]() | 2011-01-18 17:49:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |

@ TOXIC_KILLA, The game has gotten way better since the first one! I do not joke! The grapple hook alone has made it such a fun game to play, although it takes forever to learn how to control! If anyone figures out how to master it please let me know. I've been waving my controller around wildly trying to get it to swing. ![]() | 2011-01-18 17:56:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |

This ^ Unfortunately, Mm decided to change the way the Grapple Hook reels in during the last patch of the beta. It used to be that you simply pressed X to reel it in, and let out slack by pressing down on the analogue stick. Apparently Mm thought it was somehow more "intuitive" to have both up and down movements controlled by the analogue stick. It isn't more intuitive at all, and isn't nearly as easy as it used to be. To be frank... it's downright frustrating trying to use it to gain any height or decent swinging now. I used to love the Grapple Hook, now... it likely won't make it into any of my levels because it's so frustrating to use in any way that you can make clever use out of it. | 2011-01-19 04:18:00 Author: Rustbukkit ![]() Posts: 1737 |

I have this game. Since I have only gotten a chance to play it a little bit (first 2 story levels) after a second story level I can say that what we need is a 100% prices walkthrough. | 2011-01-19 06:10:00 Author: FreeAim ![]() Posts: 2462 |
Yeah, I was surprised how tricky the grappling hook is to get use to. The control s are easy to figure out, it's just frustrating to pull off certain maneuvers. I spent wayyy too much time grapple runs in the da vinci levels where your grappling over electricity to grab these three very high prize bubbles. Game is amazing t | 2011-01-19 06:20:00 Author: Tron-X ![]() Posts: 19 |
I hated those three stupid prize bubbles! Still haven't even gotten the top one. I am definitely bummed out by how annoying it is to use the Grappling Hook. Hopefully Media Molecule will patch it back to the way it was... | 2011-01-19 18:22:00 Author: Roundy210 ![]() Posts: 28 |
you guys must be too used to the grapple from Beta.. my 4 year old son rocks it fine... its just timing.. the controls for the grapple are perfect IMHO... up and down reels in and out, super simple... | 2011-01-19 20:13:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
@ ATMLVE, FREEAIM My feelings exactly! I used one for LBP1 to get all the prize bubbles, and later on my first platinum, LBP! ![]() My Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/McFlurriez?feature=mhum @ Rustbukkit, Tron-X, Roundy210 I completely agree. This grapple hook has been by far the hardest game tool i've ever used. I really think they should release some kind of tutorial how to use it properly for full momentum. I waste too much time with it sometimes! @ Ronin, I want to know what your 4 year old son does! | 2011-01-19 23:39:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |

Hopefully Media Molecule will patch it back to the way it was... LOL - that's the exact same one I had trouble with. After like 50+ attempts, I realized, I was about to spend my evening dedicated to this one prize bubble. I figured, I'll come back when I'm less tired. I wasn't in the beta, so I never had the chance to experience the previous control for the grappling hook. It's weird - it's not that the controls are not intuitive, it's just that the analog stick makes it too easy to accidentally reel in and out when you didn't mean to during a jump. | 2011-01-20 00:13:00 Author: Tron-X ![]() Posts: 19 |

It's hard to believe they thought this was a good way to do it. It's news to me that it was different during the beta, so now I'm really surprised that they chose to do it this way. It's very inaccurate. I agree that swinging with the left stick is fine, but the reeling in and out should've been mapped to the other stick or another button. The controls were always a standout of the game; I hope they fix this little issue. | 2011-01-20 16:05:00 Author: nextlevel88 ![]() Posts: 149 |

EXACTLY what I was thinking! You put it the exact same way I would have. I hope MM fixes that in the first patch, which I hope will be here in the next week; there are a tons of bugs and glitches going on right now. | 2011-01-20 18:17:00 Author: ATMLVE ![]() Posts: 1177 |
When you jump instead of trying to time the reel in and swing all perfect just hold the left stick up and right (when starting on the left). If you activate the grapple at the right spot it whips you up there. I struggled with it for a while but found it to be simple when I stopped trying to make it so complicated. | 2011-01-20 18:29:00 Author: EinRobot ![]() Posts: 739 |

It's more about using the momentum of your falling body to swing higher. The timing is tricky, but knowing when to grapple and when to let go is the key. Agreed. I always: Grapple, Swing with Reel-In, Release, position my fall for maximum distance, grapple (now swinging the opposite direction) with Reel-In, release. (repeat). That, for me, works better than trying to swing back and forth (you can get much more speed and have better control using gravity to your advantage). Kinda like using the rope when playing Worms... Hey everyone! Just want to update you that the first level for world 2 is on its way and will be finished uploading in another 2 hours. Reason being why it's coming sorta slow (some people think a level a day is slow on youtube ![]() http://www.youtube.com/user/McFlurriez?feature=mhum - McFlurriez | 2011-01-23 08:42:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |
Hey I saw some random threads here and there so I was wondering if the Cakeinator becomes available later as an unlockable for level creator? If not then I'm guessing we'll have to pay for it ![]() | 2011-01-24 06:21:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |
Hey I saw some random threads here and there so I was wondering if the Cakeinator becomes available later as an unlockable for level creator? If not then I'm guessing we'll have to pay for it ![]() Pretty sure the "cakeinator" is just a regular creatinator that shoots cakes with the jelly part made sticky with the material properties tool. As for the cherry on top, that's just an object added to it. Simple as that. | 2011-01-24 08:24:00 Author: Morphix ![]() Posts: 3 |
Just wondering if you still need a third and/or fourth player. | 2011-01-26 15:09:00 Author: Super_Dork_42 ![]() Posts: 1874 |
I just need to get 100% on all ummm ya but id like to know what costumes are in that kinda thingy lol if you know what i mean | 2011-01-27 00:18:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
I'm working on a list of all costume items in each level. Right now I'm only missing a few prize bubbles from Eve's Asylum and the Cosmos. Once I find them all, I'll finish up my list and paste it all here ![]() Also, great vids, haha Made me laugh a few times. Just waiting for the rest now! | 2011-01-27 01:43:00 Author: Morphix ![]() Posts: 3 |

Definitely loving these guides you have up. I'm not very good at LittleBigPlanet2 (aside from grappling, which for some reason I seem to do great at, mainly because I spent the first half hour or so in Da Vinci's levels seeing exactly how high I could go!), so I missed a TON of collectibles, and it's extremely difficult for me to find some of them on my own. Keep going, keep going! =) | 2011-02-02 02:01:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Thanks BinaryDread! Sorry about the wait for the levels, been publishing like 1 a day due to the intense workload at the moment. I got a week off on the 21st of Feb for reading week at the university so I'll probably try to finish up the story mode then! | 2011-02-06 07:17:00 Author: McFlurriez ![]() Posts: 19 |
