Ok, The game is awesome! Picked it up at midnight. Only problem is... I have a 320 gig slim PS3 and the game is freezing on me alot.. It froze 7 times in 1 hour on me. The issue is when a pin and trophy pop, the game freezes. Forcing me to hard reset my PS3. But the problem might be deeper, it also froze on me while tryig to load the first story level. So... I searched a few forums and couldn't find this topic, so figured I would post here, hoping Mm will read and make some sort of patch. Would hate to have thousands of people wanted a refund when they get it home and it is unplayable. I tried to delete a friend from my 100, (seems alot of new games have the freeze if you have 100 friends bug) but it still freezes. Any ideas to help would be great. Thanks. I have another friend who has same issue, he says to delete beta and beta profile, and still no luck.... deleted both and still freeze.

Hmmm, I've had 2 freezes so far, both when moving / placing complex logic. That's in around 30-40 hours total play time so far I'd estimate, mostly create. I'm using an 160GB Phat model, 2 years old, I'm playing offline and using the EU version... So that might factor in.

Yeah, I remember LBP1's first launch. The "problem" then was patched within a few days. So I have a feeling this will be fixed soon. I'll let you know how my copy does when I get it today in this post. Out of curiosity, what country is your copy from and what copy is it (CE or regular)?

I can't even play at all! It locks up the entire system on the loading screen when it says "Don't switch off your system when you see this symbol or when HDD access indicator is flashing." The icon spins around for a couple of seconds, then just stops. I had the XMB visible on one attempt to prove that the whole system stops.

Hmm, looking at the other posts, it's probably worth noting that I'm playing offline and using the EU version... So that might factor in.

Dang, doesn't sound good :/ Well, I'll be creating mostly, so it looks like I'll just have to go online (hint: on 'Account Managment', you can press Triangle, and from there select 'Disconnect' instead of turning your internet off completly). Also rtm, out of curiosity, how are you playing an EU one? Mainland isn't out until tommorrow, and UK isn't until 21st.

I thought that maybe there could be a data conflict or confusion, so I deleted and then subsequently reinstalled the LBP Game Data (not the Profile Data), the DLC Game Data, the LBP2 Game Data and the LBP2 profile. No luck, still froze in intro level. Now I'm sad. But think I'm going to try deleting LBP2 profile and playing the game without importing LBP profile. Keep fingers crossed please!

Ok, played 4 story levels and a few community levels, and no freeze today yet. Had a few trophies and pins pop, so far so good. Can't explain why it kept freezing last night...

The freezing trouble is affecting many systems. I hope this will be patched soon. We all wait for this day and now appears this problems. In Mexico SONY says..... lets make January 25 the release date of LBP2. So i cant play the game rigth now XD. i really hope you can make your game works.

Well, instead of deleting the LBP2 profile and not importing the LBP profile, I decided to try playing logged out of the PSN. No freezing and I've played through the first 7 or so levels. geez... can't get online with the game that is supposed to be played with other people online... lol

I just purchased the game and after installing the game always freezes at the screen for Important Information. I can't ever seem to get past this screen and into the game. I have installed the games 3 times, tried it with the internet disconnect and haven't had any results. If anyone has the same problem please share.

Hey all. Just wanted to throw it out there that I am also having problems with LBP2. Just picked it up today, and when my brother attempted to import his LBP1 profile it froze two times before it finally worked. The intro level started up with Stephen Fry's smooth voice but, suddenly, his voice began repeating like a broken record. This was rather disturbing, tbh, and may give me nightmares. O_o From reading the comments, though, I'll try to play offline and use a fresh LBP2 account and see if that helps.

This is lame. I couldn't even get the intro level started it would freeze everytime. I disconnected from the internet. I deleted my BETA client, BETA profile, the demo. It still is not working. There's no way I'm gonna leave my LBP1 profile. We were promised that. I have the U.S. collector's edition if that matters. Hopefully they fix this. I never had this problem in the BETA. EDIT: It has something to do with the profile importing. But I'm not sure what because I deleted ALL costumes, stickers, pods, levels on my moon, and objects. I had nothing but my profile. And it still did not work. I can play fine without importing. But I don't want to. EDIT AGAIN: I got it to work. Someone earlier posted that they played with no profile import until they got to the pod and then imported via the start menu. I just trie it and it works. I got to keep everything. Nothing deleted. So if anyone has problems try it.

I am having the same problems!!! This game is unbelivably fun but the freeze just ruins it!!!! (((((( it has to be something to do with our massively large profiles on lbp1.... Mm have to fix this because it's starting to everyone off.

Picked up LBP 2 today from amazon. I have been having problems since the beginning, first tried to play the game importing my LPB 1 data and it froze over and over again. Read this forum and then I decided to delete my LBP 2 profile data and not import til after but I still had freezing issues. Then I tried to delete my LBP 1 profile data....yes it ****** me off when I did it AND my LBP 2 profile data to just start a new profile BUT that still didn't work. I am plagued with constant freezing!! I include that I am also playing with a friend of mine online who has not had 1 freeze issue at all but has no LBP 1 data. I seem to be the only 1 of my friends with this issue. I am going to play solo right now and see if it does it again. Edit: Finished same level I kept freezing on by myself without my friend. Edit: Friend joined, went through level with no problems until the end we were about to step on the level end pad and bam frozen. I am now attempting to reinstall LBP 2 but I don't think it will make much difference.

Well for people like me who can't even pass the loading screen, I don't understand people saying "don't import LBP1 data until it's loaded from the start menu". There was no option of importing during install. It just installs. Then it loads. Then it freezes.

I've just this second beat the game and it froze at the scoreboard. Now after resetting the PS3, my game save has vanished and I need to start over. That's offline on a brand new (Bought it last week) 250gb Slim. I honestly can't believe my luck tbh. I'm only just getting over the fact that my previous system got YLOD a week before launch and I had to replay LBP from scratch to get all the prize bubbles again. Aarrrggh!

Ok. If your problem is like mine, here's things to consider. Do you have LBP1 data? If no, DID you on that account? If yes, are you using the same email or whatever for your psn id? (**** online database messing things up). And finally, where you one of the people like me afflicted with the LBP1 save data corruption glitch. I loaded up LBP1, it updated, saw my corrupted data but now refuses to load it anyways. I had to make new LBP1 profile, and delete the old one (which is stored in it's older location) and NOW LBP2 works...so far.

For those having the problem who can't launch into the game try removing your LBP 1 data and save file. um, DON'T DO THIS. If you do decide to do this, backup your profile as there are profile bugs that can be fixed by loading old profiles. Be very, VERY sure you want to do this before you do it.

Sad to say, this is exactly what you need to do. I am doing the same. I do suggest this, though. Before you overwrite a profile backup (although I doubt you are) make sure your character can nod. There's a bug I had that is related to your profile that keeps your character from being able to nod and at the same time you cannot swim fast, only slow speed swimming. I'd hate to see you have that get saved over a good profile.

For all those haveing trouble when it freezes after the profile import....all yu have to do is play without importing yur lbp1 profile....then once yu get done in the intro lvl u will be able to go 2 ur pod once in yur pod go to setting and profile then import yur lbp1 profile then it will work so don't delete yur saved file or anything
