Today Square Enix announced FF13-2. Yeah. Apparently it'd be released in 2011, or so they say.

I'll watch it. but if I see it's anywhere near as linear as FF13, I know I won't be getting it.

They said they'd be starting production on it after XIIIversus is finished...But now we've got another game to get in the way!

Pro'ly just gonna watch this one on Youtube instead of actually buying it (like I did with FF13). I don't really like turn-based battling or anything remotely resembling it.		2011-01-18 18:33:00

They did said they were gonna improver alot of things..but idk I hated the first FF13, depends on how the battle and leveling system is like I might get it, by the way is it me...or does that black knight dude with lighting looks like that knight from Final Fantas 1? I think I'm with most people in saying that I wasn't thrilled with FF13. I'm holding out hope that the mechanics completely change for round two. Even though FFX had a pretty RADICAL system in place, they completed changed everything up for FFX-2.

I'm hoping we see that level of difference this time around... or at least that we get the ability to do more than select what type of party we want...		2011-01-29 21:00:00

I have to admit the dress sphere battle system in X-2 was one of my favourite final fantasy battle systems. They took the ATB system and made it fun again. I preferred X-2s battle system over Xs battle system just because it was fun and fast paced. But FF13 fast paced but incredibly slow, I want to do more than press x Square.

I really do hope they do something innovative with this sequel. If not at least Versus 13 is looking good.		2011-01-29 21:09:00

I do hope things that flawed in FF13 will be tweaked up in this.

I found FF13 to be good but not great (which many other FFs are great). It was so linear...
In fact, I've started FF4 recently, and here's an impression comparison:

FF4: YAY! Travelling on an airship! Lets go land on that secret remote island! Whoo! TINY PEOPLE! YAY!
FF13: Lets go back to the place in the beginning for nostalgia's sake! WHAT!? I CAN'T!? RARRWERTZDSYJ

Also, hated how the battle system made battles a tad too easy, like how most of the time you just keep pressing auto-attack. Or how you get gameover just cuz leader dies. OR how you only have full control over the leader.

Final Fantasy 13 Versus looks so good, I wish It would come out in 2011, but looking on how the game looks like right now, I dont think it will be that long I mean, first time we saw FF13 gameplay...I think it was like 8 or 7 months before it came out or am I wrong?....hmmm..I cant remember but Judging on how much they showed of FF13 versus I dont think its that far away, Maybe Dec2011 or earlyer 2012.


And yeah I agree about FFX-2, it was underrated but it was great (not to mention Paragon and Trema was one of he most epic and hardest bosses in FF, of course without the Catnip trick it was).


All I can say is, if FF13-2 doesnt have a different leveling system...Battle system and free roaming, adventuring etc, im not getting it =/		2011-01-30 16:06:00

when i read the title, i thought it was about final fantasy 132.
it seemed reasonable because, final fantasy is like the longest series ever...

Gets too much hate for what is a good game, because if it wasn't associated with the final fantasy series it'd be considered a good game. The problem is that the final fantasy series is often thought of as a JRPG series with a ton to explore, good stories and good graphics. Final Fantasy 13 was so linear it was kinda embarrassing. While playing it, the linearity didn't bother me for some stupid reason because normally i like to have some freedom on a game (i mean come on, im signed up to lbp forum). I do think that while it has its flaws, the game was enjoyable. It was a lot more challenging than previous FF's (from the ones ive played xiii, ix, x, x-2, xii), the graphics raised the bar for games. No everything was terrible.

If they can fix the flaws of FF13 they will have an amazing game on their hands. Also, the worst thing about the game imo was the combat. While it was good the autobattle thing was disastrous because it meant players would just sit pressing x repeatedly.		2011-02-02 16:37:00
