Beta servers... Back up?!

So this morning, I wake up, and see that I have a message telling me that the Beta servers are back up.

I rush to the beta client, and see that my friend is not lying. The community, as well as all other online features are live again..

Interesting... triple confirmed on my part. I don't know what to say...

For some very strange reason it appears the beta servers are back up! This is no joke, and many levels are still floating around the servers. Does anyone have any clue as to why??

Edit: Apparently it has to do with the Little Big World Record event.

mmmmmmm, i wonder if MM actually republished those levels with the bugs removed to make sure there were levels for people to play? it is odd

edit: yeah it might be to do with the world record attempts but surely, if it releases tomorrow then some people could reinfect the LBp2 levels they are working on after receiving the game early?		2011-01-17 19:33:00

Confirmed. No changes appear to have been made, so yeah Doopz... I think that is the most likely reason. But, I thought they had all the levels backed up on their server? Wouldn't it have been easier to just play them off that instead of putting the system up again? Meh... either way, I'm going to enjoy some levels I didn't get to play or won't ever have to again tonight if they stay up long enough.2011-01-17 19:35:00

MM never said they remove them (they really didn't and i kno lot of people considered server shut down as a levels wipe), but simply not transfer over to main server and turn down the server i self and levels left there untouched. I think they turn on server for IGN's record breaking event since there no other LBP2 community levels to play to break the record. so injoy extra beta days to Jan 19 ;]		2011-01-17 19:39:00

Sorry, that's not the way it works. This thread was made first, thus it is the keeper.

Also, is it just me or are the servers messed up? I got a comment on my level from January 1st 1970, and when I try to access the comments on LBP.me I get an error (http://beta.lbp.me/v/qc5e/comments). This is my favourite part of the error '(eval):541:in `block in init''.		2011-01-17 19:40:00

could they not just do it in a month or 2 on the normal LBP2?

They put it back up so that they could show off some beta content during the World Record event. It won't last for very long, sadly. I was told it'd only be the JAP servers, but this doesn't appear to be the case. I don't know if they even know what's going on anymore.2011-01-17 19:53:00

I just booted up my LBP2 beta...

For some reason...

The servers are bak :o

I dunno who done this in Mm....

Did they only need the data for awhile and then rebooted it?

Well soon LBP2 comes and its obselete...

But gotta admit that is nice for those wanting privacy from most peeps if you chose to....

I dont get it, but the beta is back online!! all of my levels are still there published. plus when i logged on my pins that apply to my lbp1 levels were awarded to me. such as 100000 plays on a lvl, etc.
