PSP Creatinator *Updated V2*

PSP Creatinator
WoodburyRaider

A level based on cory_7101995 and randomperson3459's "Mag Key on Sackboy" and "Lethalize your Sackboy" glitch. Press 'R' to use the PSP Creatinator and shoot blocks to help you move on in the level. A small demo area is provided for testing. The PSP Creatinator is based on the LBP2 version.[/div]

Version 1 (V1)
Although it's not required, feedback always helps! Thanks and I hope you enjoy this small demo level of a PSP Creatinator prototype.

Version 2 (V2)
Again feedback helps but it isn't required. Post what you think about my version of the creatinator below. A larger "story" level will come with the next update with some more minor improvements.

- Reduced "drag" causing Sackboy to be pulled one way or another by the creatinator.
- Eliminated "stunted jump" that caused sackboy to not be able to jump as high as normal
- Raised sackboy's hangtime when jumping ever so slightly
- Changed block colors
- Added SFX
- Added "short puzzle" at end (shoot the buttons)
- Other minor fixes.

Awwh man well I found a way to make that happen a lot less often and will probably update the level again soon. It makes the creatinator a bit more bulky and keeps it on his head the whole time.

EDIT: I'm gonna make the final version of the level platformer-style and make it having a moving entrance checkpoint that sends you to the scoreboard if you die in order to prevent this problem.

I like it. If you continue and try to eliminate the problem with jumping, the rod breaking, and witch direction your shooting, it'll be pretty neat.

Yep I've already solved the rod breaking and am working on the changing direction of shooting, but it's tricky since it's not actually stuck to your head in a sense that it turns with it, but it's like a helmet that faces to your right and doesn't turn. A wobble bolt might make it interesting...

Yeah the drag is strange but I found out the cause of it and eliminated it. It was because the rod was shorter than what it showed and pulled you in whatever direction the grab material was on. Kind of confusing to explain but yeah I'll update this thread's title and OP when I've republished.

What you should do is attach sponge(s) with grab switch(es) set to On/Off so the player can aim.

Although that's only if you can, I haven't used that glitch.

Not sure how you did it, but I tested out the glitch with (no helmet) the emitter set to shoot microbombs, and I hooked it up to a toggle switch so it can be turned on/off. I'll leave you brief feedback when I have time.

Sounds good and yeah the helmet will be in the next published version, it is still only the first version published right now.

Yeah I'll try that out too since everything else I've tried has caused my level to eventually freeze. I'm finishing up my 2010 level and it's goin really well so this probably won't be updated for a little while.

Anyone else with any suggestions on how I could keep the material attached to the grab switch held upright right in front of sackboy's face just reply to this thread. (In case any of you didn't know, it's basically like attaching the material to another object which in this case is sackboy.)

Lol can't even stand still.. sackboy's just too anxious for this to be fixed! Haha I'm finishing up my level 2010 and then this is my next project..at least to get a solid update out.

Hmm well I can't get any pictures since I don't have the right equipment and my 2mpx camera won't show anything. Also since this is just sort of a demo level I don't think the pics will show anything very good since it isn't that detailed and just simply looks like a block floating around Sackboy. I think you're best off waiting and seein it yourself on your PSP.

UPDATE 1:

At first I played v1 and i didn't like it because of the limited jumping

EDIT: Cory answered this right before me haha but here's why it's a no:

As an item...
- No since it isn't an item like on the PS3 version and isn't capturable
And as a level like I assume you meant...
- No because of the above reason and also because it is just like a level anyone would publish to share, since making it copyable would only allow others to claim it as theirs, re-publish as their own, and eventually spam the community moon with the same level. Sorry if this is a bummer but for all of those who haven't figured out how I did it yet, I'll add in all the complicated stuff to the OP when I publish the final version.

I'll hopefully be releasing my final update this weekend if I'm not too busy. Since I've gotten a lot of hearts and plays on this first updated version I don't really want to update it yet or at all so I think I'll just separately publish it saying it's the final. I'm trying to make a short platforming level with it that showcases all of the features. I'm also gonna test out my idea to add in a directional aiming system that'll hopefully work.

Hey man I gotta go to school real soon now so I can't find the link in time but searching "Mag Key on Sackboy" or "Lethalize your Sackboy" should do it. It'll be by Cory or Random and will tell you all about the glitch involved. Hope this helps

I'm glad you liked it! Currently, I'm not working on a tutorial level but I will be in the future, probably when I'm done with the full level version which sadly won't be out for a little while now. Keep a look out for the title on this thread to say *Republished* in it or something like that.

Thanks man my goal is to accomplish a pretty neat level for it in the near future but I have to work backwards on it now to make building it easier since once building the creatinator, you cannot move your sackboy in create mode or the glitch will make your game freeze and so each time you build something your popit has to be moved all the way over. It's a shame but it should be pretty easy for me to recreate since I have an idea of what to do to make it better.

Thanks man. If you or anyone else have ideas for Creatinator puzzles I could use that would be great too! I'll check out some of the PS3 ones in LBP2 later too.

Ah I assume you mean mag keys and yeah I already do have those on but that's a pretty neat idea to use them for that! I've also already done a few gas/lava areas that you have to cross and am working on a way to make there be a button in the middle of a "zone" that when you press it, it flips your creatinator to shoot the other way. I've made a rough version of this and it looks like it could work so thats good news.

Yeah I've held off on this project for until I get LBP2 and play some levels on it (It was supposed to have arrived a week ago...stupid shipping). I'm also thinking of adding it to my Modern Warfare Survival level as a gun but I may wait on that also.

Not yet it's just the one but I do have big plans for it to be showcased in a full PSP Creatinator level, and Modern Warfare Survival 2 as a gun (right after MWS1 is done).

I never got the chance to put a tutorial up since I haven't published my full level showcasing it yet. I'll reveal all the tips and tricks to make it once I publish that level. Since you're new here, why not check out the site and see what the PSP side on LBPCentral has to offer. You'll learn a lot about the create mode and learn how to make good levels as well.
