Freezing on my Ps3 Fat 60gb
Archive: 17 posts
It has froze on every level and sometimes when I load and exit a level. This is the first time any Ps3 game has froze this much. Any ideas on what I could do? | 2011-01-15 16:56:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |
It might be time to plug in an external storage device and back everything up. | 2011-01-15 17:06:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |

Yes, this is your PS3 dying freaking soon. Back it up ASAP. | 2011-01-15 18:44:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
I had this problem with the beta (have the original launch 60g here). It was smooth sailing for awhile and then as I was about to publish a level, suddenly it started freezing every time I booted a level. I quickly backed up my levels and blew away my LBP2 profile...smooth sailing ever since. I'm hoping it doesn't freeze on me on Tuesday.... Just out of curiosity, do you still have the original hard drive on yours? I upgraded mine to a 320g about a year ago. | 2011-01-17 02:23:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |

I did a full format and it still froze. I'm using the original hard drive. | 2011-01-17 02:49:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |

I think you have the 80 Gb Ps3. | 2011-01-17 03:08:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |
wil how can have space on it, its almost full, im scared D= | 2011-01-17 03:11:00 Author: The_Lil_JoKeR Posts: 745 |
if it says 60/74 gig you have 60 gig left so theres plenty of room. backup everything tho else you could lose all your saves if you get ylod. i got it on my last ps3, but i backed up before so i didnt lose all my levels. | 2011-01-17 05:05:00 Author: artise Posts: 353 |
Just got a brand new 320 Gb and the game is still frezzing. As I said before, I played it to completion over my friend's house. He has a slim 160 GB. Even on his it pauses for a second, and early today on his it froze for 3 seconds, but was able to recover. | 2011-01-17 23:05:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |
That whole hard drive adventure was probably useless. It's rare the problem in a PS3 is the hard drive. The PS3 are dying because of the graphic chip overheating and or disc drive having reading problems or breaking. I told you the real solution is to back up your stuff if you don't want to lose it when your PS3 will die. Have an external hard drive formatted in FAT32 and use the back-up function regularly (once a month or something, maybe even more often). | 2011-01-18 01:48:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Playing offline fixed the problem. I noticed the earth icon on the bottom left kept spinning. | 2011-01-18 15:40:00 Author: zekeike Posts: 71 |
I'm sure the problem will be patched within the first week or so. A friend of mine reminded me that the first game locked up a lot the first couple of days and the servers went down while mm fixed it...it affected both online and offline play. | 2011-01-18 16:40:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |
The psp version of lbp1 has severe problems with random freezeing and red screen of death... Just copy your levels on your mymoon and back up profile every week... Us pspers had to get used to it because they could not find a fix... Be prepared for the same thing... | 2011-01-18 16:49:00 Author: trianglepigsquar Posts: 144 |
