Archive: 9 posts

Calling all Sack boys and girls! Who would like to remake the story mode from LBP2 for PSP lovers!? I don't have the game YET but I know a lot of people will. So waddaya say!? Why Not!? If theres already a project like this then give me a link and lock this page. If there isn't then thats just great! Now I'm going on holiday so yeah just keep having fun while I'm gone. Happy Gadding! (If you want to start remaking now, then go ahead, I won't be able to stop you)2011-01-14 23:05:00

Hmmm... It sounds like a good idea, but aren't there a bunch of new features in LBP2 that we wouldn't be able to replicate? I haven't even seen anyone try to recreate LBP1's PS3 story (actually, is that story the same as the PSP versions?), let alone try to put stuff in like the grappling hook and all that other stuff. Also, the 2 layers thing kinda ruins it. If someone could pull this off I'd be impressed; as for now, I'm just hoping that a PSP2 is being made and that LBP2 will be released right after it.2011-01-16 16:08:00

No, the PSP story carries on from the PS3 version.

Uhh, you could try. From what I've played on the demo and seen in videos most of the stuff would be too hard to make on psp. Most could be made, but to remake a whole 50+ levels, well, even if the whole LBPC PSP side joined in it would take at least a year or more. If you are serious about making this, here's a general list of what can be done and what can't.
Graphics/scenery: Yes, we have 3rd layer glitch, and you can use the corner edit tool to remake all level material wise. It just would take a lot longer.
Paintinator/creatinator: Kinda. You can use Cory's glitch to stick an emitter on sackboy, but you can't aim.
Cutscenes: Yes. I've successfully made LBP2 cutscenes on PSP, and there's a few different ways to replicate them. I'm working on a tutorial right now.
Controllinator: No/yes. The seat thing is a no, but I found a way to get the R, X, and left/right analog to work on an object through a control box pretty well.
Grapple: No, I have no clue how anyone could pull this remotely off
Anti-gravity: Yes, use invisible peach floaty on objects.
Music maker: Mostly: Use rhythmic output logic gate, and hook up drum and piano sounds to it.

That's about all I know, and unfortunately I don't have time to help you make the levels, sorry.

Yeah this project sounds like way too much of a challenge and would require, I would argue, WAY more than 1 year to make even with the whole PSP Community on it. Ignoring the material differences is only one of the thousands of reasons of why this wouldn't be able to happen, at least to complete ALL of the levels even semi-accurately...

I know that you've seen my sort of creatinator level so it COULD be possible to perfect but yeah I still haven't come up with a reasonable way to aim with it. As for the paint or sticky effect, I still don't know how that could be possible.

I do have an idea for the grapple after thinking about it for awhile. You could use cory's glitch again and attach a rocket to sackboy's feet (never tried it so I don't know the effect or even if it's possible) and then you could make it LOOK as though you were emitting a grapple like thing and have hooks that you could aim for on walls and ceilings. If the rockets didn't work you could make the emitted grapple grabbable (-lol) and climb it up to where you're going....but other than those ideas I can't imagine how it could be done.

Don't you have your own cool ideas for new level on psp? Why do want to recreate something from ps3 side? And I think without all this lbp2 features remake will looks poor even on ps3, and on psp it will be very different from lbp2 original... it is my imho...2011-01-17 15:48:00
