Backup Issues

Archive: 7 posts

This problem may have been solved in another thread (if it has, sorry), but my searches have as of yet been unfruitful. I tried copying my profile to a flash drive to transport to another PS3, and only about half of my levels and costumes (the oldest ones in the bunch) made the trip. The second PS3 in question is fully updated patch-wise, and it has the creator pack 1 (I'm not sure if that matters). Is this a problem that anyone else has had, or was this just a peculiar backup error? Thanks so much for your help!2011-01-14 22:08:00

Did you transfer the save file or a profile backup. If you backup your profile and transfer that to the second PS3 is should have all your stuff.

Yes, the backups don't "automatically update" those you gotta update them yourself by constantly backing it up. 2011-01-14 22:27:00

I'm fairly certain I backed up the profile; the method I used was to use the "copy" function on the LBP Profile Data within the "Saved Data Utility" menu. I transferred this to a usb drive, then transferred that to another PS3. Is there another better method of backup that I'm unfamiliar with? Thanks again for your assistance.

EDIT: One thing I forgot, I didn't have 100% on the game anymore in my backup. It's as if the game perfectly reverted to the way it was eight months ago (that's a rough guess, time-wise). This is just a hunch, but it seems like this could only be related to some patch.

There is a save data backup utility in the pause menu of the POD. If you use that you will make a new profile data that is 100% up to date. You need to transfer that file to the other console then import it from inside the game.2011-01-15 21:26:00

By "backup", we mean pausing the game while in your Pod, going to Profile Settings, and then backing up your profile. What you described is merely copying your most recent profile backup to another system. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you last updated your profile about eight months ago, seeing as you described the profile you copied as seeming to be exactly like it was appoximently eight months ago. Just follow the steps I described and you should be fine. EDIT: Robotiod beat me 2011-01-15 21:28:00
