Dynamic Fire?
Archive: 9 posts
How about dynamic fire, this could be fire that could spread between flammable materials, or more freely like water, or more of a volcanic magma effect. | 2011-01-14 21:39:00 Author: PerfectlyDarkTails Posts: 269 |
That would be nice. I can say in the beta it didn't work like that but you could take hologram material and set it on fire and emit it and it behaved much like a liquid fire. Looks cool too. | 2011-01-14 21:41:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
You can also use Danger tweakers to set different pieces on fire when activated by a switch or whatever. Also you have the fire projectile which is neat and could be used to make a volcano. | 2011-01-14 21:59:00 Author: Kitkasumass Posts: 494 |
I got some interesting results in the beta by mixing tag and impact sensors piped into a danger tweaker (to set the objects on fire)...doesn't do much for recreating magma per se, but it does look interesting. | 2011-01-14 22:04:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |
Yeah, basically all that's required is collision switches, a few tags, danger tweakers, and some counters. Just have a tag placed on any flaming material, and then on the materials that you wish to catch fire, set the collision switch to be activated by the tag(s), and, if you want, you can have the collision switch activate a counter, which will then, in turn, activate the hazard! So yeah, this works with any hazard, I'm just explaining it to fit your purpose... Next Tuesday, I am going to create a demo using this method, so maybe it'll make more since then, rather than this horrible explanation! Good Luck! | 2011-01-14 22:07:00 Author: Super_Clone Posts: 849 |
I'd suggest setting light to hologram pieces and / or moving them around, rather than split the objects in pieces and set them on fire. | 2011-01-14 23:06:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |

More or less what's been mentioned here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcKK0JWAHAo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcKK0JWAHAo | 2011-01-15 02:53:00 Author: Foofles Posts: 2278 |
Never knew tags could be activated by switches :O | 2011-01-15 19:38:00 Author: Radishlord Posts: 706 |
