I'm more old-school, enjoying Atari 7800 and such, but my son likes his PS3. I've been googling like crazy to figure out where the Paintinator is. He bought the Metal Gear Solid Kit, which was supposed to contain the Paintinator and a healthbar. But he can't find it in his inventory. I told him that I'd help me search his inventory, but, dang, he's got a lot of stuff in there! Does anyone have the Paintinator, and would be so kind to tell me where in their inventory their Paintinator resides? We thought that it would be in the Tools Bag, but it's not there. I remember reading that there's supposed to be a Paintinator switch as well, so I told him to check the Switches area, and it's not there either. Any help and advice is welcomed! Thanks so much in advance!

You have to play the lvls that came with the download and get the paintinator.

Yup, you gotta play the levels from the MGS pack to unlock it's new content. Don't worry though, you get the Paintinator very early on. Open the DLC up through the "My Content" menu and all the levels will be displayed. Have fun, and welcome to the forum!

You are welcome, but don't stop here. We have all kinds of useful information in our forums. Read through some of the threads to help you on the story lvls of Little Big Planet, or perhaps more info on some of the other neat things you can get from Downloadable content. Like actual water to swim in if you buy the Pirates of the Caribbean's Downloadable Content. (By the way, this is NOT an endorsement thing. I just happen to like the swimmable water in the Pirates Pack)

Oh yes, he bought that pack already, some weeks ago, for the same reason that you mentioned. Does he need to play all the MGS levels by himself? He played them all with a friend, but nothing. He still didn't get the Paintinator. Does he need to ace all levels, find all objects, etc?

And if that doesn't work, I believe there is a spot to stick a sticker at the beginning of the lvl. I guess try that.

Uh, wasn't the paintinator at the end of the VR Training level in MGS pack - the 2nd story one in MGS... Also welcome to the site! You're new, right? Have fun round here, man! It hasn't been said, and I'm sure it's obvious, but he is checking his Popit inventory when he's in a create mode level in his Moon, right? The paintinator and paint sensor are only available in the Tools Bag in the Popit, which is only available in Create mode. Make sure he collected all the prizes available in single player mode. [Edit: I just double checked and you get the Paintinator Powerup, Paintinator Switch, and Plasma Ball (deadly object) as prizes in Act 2:VR Training. Otacon gives them to you just before you finish the level.]
