I'm pretty sure that's one of the "filter" materials. They change the appearance of whatever's behind it. I'm not sure what other ones there are, but I know there's one that makes everything look pixelated.

they thats xray material and you can tweak it same as light materials

I never played Chalkboy but it looks very stiff and unfriendly... I say bring on the filters!
