Ophiuchus. The new(ish) zodiac sign.

Astronomer Parke Kunkle says that due to changes in the Earth's alignment the dates of many zodiac signs have changed, according to NBC. In addition, there may be a 13th Zodiac sign: Ophiuchus.

Kunkle says that as the Earth and Sun slowly move the signs gradually change, as expected.

The change didn't happen over night either. The 12 signs were designated to different periods of the year almost 3,000 years ago, when astrology began, and since then the Earth's position in relation to the sun has changed.

While the sign many people were born under may now be different, it shouldn't affect horoscope readings, according to NBC.

On that note, Ophiuchus has been the unofficial "13th Zodiac sign" for a long time though I suppose astrological changes means astronomers are reconsidering incorperating it into the club (while just acting like it's new to dazzle people).

"We've found a 'new' Zodiac sign! Be slightly more amazed then you would be if we told you Ptolomy found it first!!!"

They've had a few symbols for it too...

They say that officially the zodiacs are updating, but for the purposes of the horoscopes, they're staying the same... For now. This is mainly because the guy who discovered the new constellation wasn't superstitious and didn't care about horoscopes

The Zodiac signs - while not looking anything like the objects they are supposed to represent, only appear that way when viewed from this angle of the universe... viewed from a different angle, you realise that the stars that make up any of the zodiac signs are millions and billions of light years apart from each other, and have no relation to each other at all.

The idea that a random ball of burning gas billions of light years away can have any bearing on predicting your future is idiotic in the extreme.

Any 'gravitational' influence these stars could have on you would be completely negated by, say, the person sitting next to you, who would have more of a gravitational influence.

Horoscopes are nothing more than the Forer Effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forer_effect).

You can turn lead into gold through radiation.
Though depending on the method it isn't cost efficient.

It's actually easier to turn gold into lead.

Or is it radiation turns gold into lead?... idr but they are only one molecule off.

Do you 'feel' any different now that you think you are a different zodiac sign? If they split the sky into 14 sections rather than the now 13 sections, would you feel any different?

I'd like to know how, out of a global population of 6 billion (nearly 7 billion), there can be only 12 (13 now ) personality types?

They could divide the sky into however many divisions they like, it won't change who you are.

Also, noone here is Babylonian, or adhere to Babylonian religious observance (commonly a sacrificed lambs liver), so none of this astrology would mean anything to you anyway, as it was a Babylonian religious practice. That is exactly what happened to me. Of course, I actually have a twin brother, but I'm reasonably sure that he isn't evil. If anything, I'm more likely to be the evil one!

You know, if two sides disagree, the truth isn't always "somewhere in the middle", sometimes one side is just plain wrong.
