Old Popit VS New Popit

Archive: 17 posts

Anyone else notice how different the GDC popit is from the current popit?

I personally like the old popit. It's more snazzy. Though, I wonder if it was as simple to use as the current popit.

Yeah, the old one resembles the XMB.

I prefer the new one.

But what happens if you have a small tv screen? I'm with the current one.2008-11-07 22:51:00

Holy smokes, I forgot that you used to be able to move the popit menu! I think there's actually three versions of the pop-it menu. I'll try to find a video of the second version.

er...for liking which one...I like the one we have due to it being organized! But I like being able to move the pop it...so...I wish we had a mix of both ;_;

edit:Also, why did they change some stuff that was grabbable to not be able to grab it?

That old one looks ok, but it seems as though it might be really hard to use if you have lots of objects. I can't imagine using something other than our current pop-it2008-11-08 02:42:00

Agreed.

I found the current version to be instantly easy to use; there was never any time spent to "learn" it. All I had to do was be told what each icon does, and pow, everything just made sense from there.

I prefer the new one, its easier to navigate, MUCH more organised, and I think the baloon shape looks a bit tacky.2008-11-08 11:37:00

i'll agree that the old one seems a bit disorganized (although i'm sure there was a method to their madness) and it's odd that it stayed present while he was resizing and placing the shape. but yeah i prefer the new one as it seems to be better organized. but has anyone noticed that the order of things within categories changes?! my basic materials are always jumping around. wood used to be in the upper left and now it's in the lower right. dark matter and rubber are always moving around (very hard to keep those two straight). WTF!?2008-11-08 14:46:00
