You know all that personal info you put online that gets passed around for marketing purposes? It's all here. For anyone to see.

If you want to delist yourself, you need to type in your name, email address, or username. If it shows up and you see something you don't want others to see, you need to copy the entire URL and go to "Privacy" at the bottom of the page, and then paste the URL where prompted, as well as your email. You'll get an email with a link to remove the listing.

Also, this site has personal info as well: http://pipl.com/

I don't seem to be on there, but generally when I sign up to websites that require a lot of this stuff I'll give inaccurate details. Rather than fill out a survey that they can sell to advertisers... Facebook, Google etc. I'm looking at you.2011-01-11 21:15:00

I personally find it hilarious the sheep were stolen by Will Smith.

When a couple of sheep, who were up to no good,
started making trouble in my neighborhood...

EDIT: Wait, wow, the dude got sentenced to death. For stealing sheep. Wow.

I didn't find my information... but I found my parents'.

But the data for my family is hilariously contorted. They listed my dad's name twice, my mom's name once, and then my mom's surname.

Yeah, both of my parents are on there, with my Dad coming up twice for our two houses we have. The information is VERY accurate, nothing was wrong.2011-01-12 00:52:00

All I managed to scoop up on me was my IP address and Photobucket account... I'm pretty sure that's easy to get a hold of.

I think it has something to do with being in Canada, they only had listings on name for the states.

Those sites are just databases of public record information and social sites. They just harvest all their data from those sources and let people have access to them for a moderate fee. There's a bunch of them all over the web. It would only work for Americans because our country has lots of public records available unless you have a profile on a major social site of course. Then it can pick up that data too.

Oh and the reason you would not find yourself on the list is because you do not appear on any public records. You might start appearing once you register with the government (drivers license, ID, voting), when you buy property, obtain a criminal record, or anything else that would appear in a public record.

BTW, they get their information from free sources so if you ever wanted to buy a report, just know it's usually information you can get for free just by doing some research through government public records. By buying a report, you're really paying for a convenience, not the information.

Actually, you know what, they may just get this information from phone books.

This is scary.
I searched my dad and they had our house with everyone who lived there, our homes value, his age and everything. SCARY

Yup, that's all information available to the public through government public records. Gotta love the USA.

This kind of makes me think of Mirror's Edge. Where all information is monitored, where the Government knows everything you type in to anyone over the internet, mail, anything, with cameras all over the streets you're under constant surveilliance. Something good about pre-historic times: Your info isn't monitored by the Government, and you can write on the wall and no one will yell at you.2011-01-14 01:19:00

Missed this post somehow...
Feel bad for the people who have found stuff on themselves, personally did not find a thing besides social network info, which is also incorrect for the most part!

This website just helps those that do not realize it, just how easy it is for you to be found, if someone just really really wanted to. Does not have to be a Government agency with black helicopters and scary guys in the bushes with a camera. A scary thought, sure, but then don't make enemies and you'll be fine!

Turns out there's more people than I thought with "kirbyman62", though it got my Disqus profile.

As for my name, it seems to only be searching the US, so it looks like I'm fine.

Gahahaaha!
I've searched and searched and found nothing on me, no matter how mnay of my various Alias I placed or my real name even, no info (real/ true at least) info about me online.

Sure, there are probably people that would still be able to find it, like those super hackers and whatnot, but thankfully I've managed o avoid posting actual info anywhere, so the chances of someone finding out are at least less.

That's because you've yet to hit the age where you HAVE to give out real government information. When you get your driver license, get a job and have to pay taxes, it'll all come in due time. That is if you live in the US.

It doesn't know my name, since it only does USA.

Searching my username brings up my age, and country. (Which it only says Location: CA, so I'm safe there.)

My alternate username brings up my real name, and my whole Photobucket album.

Kinda creepy, really.

And you can pay to be a member, which lets you do what? Stalk people? No thanks.

I loved that book. Makes you think about it after you're done reading it: the village, the Giver (old man) after you escape... the whole black and white concept. How do rainbows look in there!?
