I'd like to thank the spotlight crew for letting me weasel my way back into their ranks. They aren't yet aware of the evil they have unleashed upon themselves! >:] Muich thanks to all these hard-working creators that made playing and reviewing these levels pure fun on a bun. | 2011-01-11 11:21:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |

Wow another wonderful spotlight! now that the LBP2 beta is over I can play most of these levels again. Congratulation to everyone that got in the spotlight, also people do you think this will be the last spotlight for LBP1? | 2011-01-11 12:04:00 Author: Arnald23 Posts: 1843 |
Wow another wonderful spotlight! now that the LBP2 beta is over I can play most of these levels again. Congratulation to everyone that got in the spotlight, also people do you think this will be the last spotlight for LBP1? Technically, yes. But even after the release of LBP2, LBP1 levels will still have a chance to make it into spotlight. | 2011-01-11 12:10:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |

Omg i was not expecting for my level to get spotlighted because i made it so long ago Thanks spoghtlight crew! And congrats to everyone who got spotlighted! Frigid Facade was awesome! | 2011-01-11 14:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Yay! My level was REAL spotlighted this time! Not just one of those nods! It really is such an honor.... Well anyways I'm gonna play the other spotlighted levels later. | 2011-01-11 14:52:00 Author: morris6267 Posts: 144 |
<---big smile, lol. Thanks again spotlight crew for taking time out of your personal time to bring a list of your reviewed levels of the past 2 weeks and including our level series in it! Congrats to all who made it in this time around. On a side note, I thought Obsidian Depth was an excellent level worthy of a full spotlight. Anyway, can't wait to see what everyone makes in LBP2 in the coming weeks. Im sure the creators of this site will make some genius levels. DEPRESSION, didn't got in this time either Congratulations to the spotlighted...people though! I think you posted your excellent level too late XD. So I think yours is eleigible for the next one right? Someone confirm? | 2011-01-11 15:16:00 Author: L1GhTmArE Posts: 519 |
Oh wow, the last spotlight before lbp2 comes out on.... tuesday?? D: This gets me even more hyped for the release! Congratulations to the creators whose levels got mentioned this round and of course, a big thank you to the spotlight crew for putting this together for us! | 2011-01-11 15:20:00 Author: koneko Posts: 95 |

@Lightmare. Mah I'm more referring to a multiplayer miniagme I released. I found it quite fun but I guess it was too simple and unnoticed to get spotlighted xD | 2011-01-11 15:35:00 Author: Mnniska Posts: 531 |
Congrats to all the Creators and Spotlight crew! Its the end of an era...way to go out strong. (I'm a little shocked Lock's level didn't make the list...I'm sure there was a good reason though.) | 2011-01-11 15:40:00 Author: shawneboi Posts: 221 |
If any of you guys have LBP1 levels to finish before release comes out, be warned that the spotlight team is going to be so entrenched in LBP2 we physically won't be able to put the LBP1 disc back in, so we'll be retro-playing them through LBP2. If you have the contrast turned up in the colour correction it'll be worth turning it off to nothing, else it'll be too bright in LBP2 | 2011-01-11 15:54:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
Congratulations people, some great levels coming out even this close to LBP2. But remember, LBP1 levels will still be spotlighted once LBP2 comes out - we won't be forgetting it! Thanks for being so awesome spotlight crew while I take some much needed abstinence from the game of LBP - I'll be back on the job when LBP2 comes out (naturally). Keldur is working on a spotlight library level link system thing. It looks pretty cool. Ssssssh. | 2011-01-11 15:55:00 Author: Holguin86 Posts: 875 |
Yes! Another Spotlight Nod! I really wasn't expecting any spotlight recognition becasue it was made so long ago! this was a great PSP spotlight this time, and I'll play the PS3 one soon as well, they all look great! Great job spotlight crew! | 2011-01-11 16:00:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |
Wow, still churning out great levels! Great job, everyone. @Lightmare. Mah I'm more referring to a multiplayer miniagme I released. I found it quite fun but I guess it was too simple and unnoticed to get spotlighted xD I enjoyed it, for what it's worth. Thanks for your work! | 2011-01-11 16:17:00 Author: Ryhas Posts: 179 |
Thanks again spotlight team for taking the time to play our frigid facade levels and congrats to all who made it up there.. | 2011-01-11 16:21:00 Author: Sabre_ Posts: 653 |

What about ALL the FUTURE LBP1 levels yet to be conceived? Sounds short-sighted to me, maybe varsity and junior spotlight-squads because the games really are not compatible... ...just sayin' | 2011-01-11 16:23:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Does anyone know what the 'cut-off' is for getting a level to be considered for the spotlight? Like the level has to be posted at least 3 days before today.. or whatever it actually is? | 2011-01-11 16:39:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |
*grumbles* team should rethink or find a better solution... What about ALL the FUTURE LBP1 levels yet to be conceived? Sounds short-sighted to me, maybe varsity and junior spotlight-squads because the games really are not compatible... ...just sayin' In nearly every way, LBP1 levels do look better in the sequel. The anti aliasing, the shadows, it's all gourgeous. It's just the colour correction isn't calibrated the same. Anyways, that's just my prediction on what'll happen and not a team decision Anyway x2, wasn't I playing your level again? | 2011-01-11 16:44:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
Another excellent spotlight! So many great levels. Congratulations to everyone, and thanks to the team for all the hard work. | 2011-01-11 17:06:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |

Does anyone know what the 'cut-off' is for getting a level to be considered for the spotlight? Like the level has to be posted at least 3 days before today.. or whatever it actually is? The cutoff is Wednesday at midnight, every two weeks. Last Wednesday was our cutoff, so *next* Wednesday midnight (not this Wednesday) is your next cutoff. | 2011-01-11 17:25:00 Author: Ryhas Posts: 179 |
I know this may not be the right arena for this asbestos... and perhaps my timing is poor, but you supported the spotlighting of my Great Tree Prologue... you should look, just at the opening scene in lbp2's engine... and try to convince me some more. LBP1 and LBP2 are two seperate entities...no matter the popular spin of '3 million shark levels...built right in'... i've said my peace... ]...and to bring the ship about[/I]... I hope you all understand the respect I have for your service to the community... but from a ps3 community stand-point... this is yet again another relatively meager selection of levels @ (for all intense purposes) FOUR with some glaring omissions... Loch, Triple, Metalhead, Anposteller... I could go on. As you can tell by my sig were trying to bring some AWARENESS back to the level showcase... where 'Cool Levels' is now like a "Rest-home for the Aged". That's made doubly hard when our own spotlight only features 4 levels. | 2011-01-11 17:30:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |

That's made doubly hard when our own spotlight only features 4 levels. Although I can't comment too much on specific levels that have/have not been included here as I didn't help with this one, I can tell you that we only spotlight levels that we feel deserve it. Obviously, level showcase activity is likely to be less proactive as it usually is, as we're in the "dead zone" before LBP2, so that's probably why the spotlights have been shorter. We don't want to change our quality standards simply because there is less activity. As for differences in LBP1/2 graphics, we'll be able to tell if the level was made in LBP1 originally, and that can be taken into account when we decide if a spotlight is worthy. | 2011-01-11 17:44:00 Author: Holguin86 Posts: 875 |
Well, Antposteller's level is of the highest standards around. I agree with Gravel on this one that it's an "omission". But hey you guys should accept the different opinions on the spotlight, it's not possible to please anyone. If anything, it might push you into surpassing yourself ( I mean the spotlight team here). In short, stay positive!! LBP is about love. Tks for another spotlight telling my lazy butt what to play, I love this. | 2011-01-11 18:04:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

But hey you guys should accept the different opinions on the spotlight, it's not possible to please anyone. Just to remind y'all; OUR SPOTLIGHT CUTOFF IS THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE POST (we are supposed to post at the weekend, but we keep having problems reaching that deadline, which is why you got a midweek post like this one, sorry again!) Therefore the following levels are on the potentials list for next spotlight; Ruins of Albion - Metalhead_as Tree of life - Preview - Anpostteller A salty space adventure : Save the girl! - Mnniska So yeah, calm your hackles! | 2011-01-11 18:21:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |

Congrats creators! This is another healthy Spotlight full of some truly brilliant levels. What a great way to kick off 2011! | 2011-01-11 20:07:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
I'm really not the whining type, but I'm pretty disappointed Cause & Effect 5 didn't get any mention. I worked on it pretty regularly for over a year, thought it far surpassed 3 and 4 (which did get a spotlight) Eh.. I guess they're getting sick of em. | 2011-01-11 20:09:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |

I worked on it pretty regularly for over a year, thought it far surpassed 3 and 4 (which did get a spotlight) Eh.. I guess they're getting sick of em. I would also like to add to this. First off, I am in no way saying you are doing a bad job because that is not the case, I really do appreciate the work you put into these spotlights. But... Maybe you shouldn't really be that strict with the levels that get in, there were some really great levels and it is kinda disappointing to only see 4 (or 5 actually) getting spotlighted (for PS3, I haven't been on PSP in a while). I know you shouldn't make it too easy and just have 20 levels there for the hell of it but I do think some good levels will be overlooked because it seems only the extreme very best of the best levels get in. Maybe you should also consider levels that could get classified as very good. I haven't really followed too close these spotlights but I really think the line where the levels get spotlighted and where they don't has gotten a bit too hard to get over. Also, I really hate to say this but it has been bugging me all day... was my level really worth no mentioning, and also if you would like to add you could say what it could have had so that it might have had a chance to get in (so that I know for future stuff, I really would want to have a level here some day ) But yeah I guess it's up to you to decide what you do, I really haven't followed too closely so I might also be way off here but at least I said what I wanted to say. | 2011-01-11 21:22:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |

Well this is my personal opinion and does not reflect the opinion of the rest of the spotlight crew but I really feel like I've seen those Rube Goldberg-type levels hundereds of times before and whilst yours was very impressive on the technical side, the nature of the level means I was just really bored watching it and couldn't honestly recommend other people to check it out. | 2011-01-11 21:22:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |

That's the very reason we have the "nods" at the bottom, to recognise the levels that didn't quite make the cut but were still worth a mention. I understand that it's frustrating to put so much effort into a level only to not have it recognized but the fact of the matter is that the spotlight crew didn't consider your level up to spotlight standards. You could argue that our standards are too high but judging by 90% of the feedback, I think we did a fair job. Please do not be disheartened by this as it certainly doesn't mean your level was bad, as it wasn't. The best thing you can do is take in a lot of feedback, improve yourself, refine your work and try again with a new level. I can't speak for the rest of the crew but if you would like me to give detailed feedback on your level and perhaps highlight some of the reasons it didn't quite make the cut for me at least, then PM me and I'll be happy to when I get the chance. | 2011-01-11 22:05:00 Author: UmJammerSully Posts: 1097 |
DEPRESSION, didn't got in this time either Congratulations to the spotlighted...people though! Seems there was an administrative error in this case. Yours has been added to the list. | 2011-01-11 22:10:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
Okay, that cleared things up I guess there will always be someone who is just below the standards to qualify, it's not easy to say where the line should go. Also, I'll send you PM because I know my level isn't perfect but I haven't received any major criticism for it either which makes it hard to know what to improve. I'll get you next time, spotlight crew... Which will probably be in 2014 knowing my creating speed | 2011-01-11 22:16:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |

I'm super excited to see that my level got spotlighted! I have to give a shout out to <3lynstigator<3, aka my wife, for all of her help. She hasn't done any official creating of her own in LBP, but is always there to tell me if my ideas are cool or lame. She also helped a lot with the dialogue. Thanks again, and CONGRATS, not only to everyone that got spotlighted, but to the LBPC community in general, for making this an awesome place to trade ideas and criticism. See you all in LBP2! | 2011-01-12 03:45:00 Author: skumchunk Posts: 57 |

You could argue that our standards are too high but judging by 90% of the feedback, I think we did a fair job 90% of the feedback for spotlight episodes is the fawning of newer members seeing names in bright lights for the first time, regulars patting each other on the back, and people trying to stay on the good sides of whoever's on the team at the time while a few make thinly veiled complaints that they didn't get in. The remaining 10% are genuinely happy to be supported & glad to see some new quality stuff to play. | 2011-01-12 07:53:00 Author: Unknown User |
Good spotlight. I have played most of the ps3 levels here but thank you for PSP levels | 2011-01-12 08:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm not sure if you're referring to me with that but I wasn't trying to stay on anyone's good side, or complain. I was genuinely surprised and upset that they didn't feel it deserved a spot. Just wanted to get it off my chest is all. | 2011-01-12 11:28:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |

@Triple No, not you and nobody in particular. Think of it as a running gag with an occasional punchline. I'm like the Comedian in Watchmen & I've seen the same spotlight reactions for a couple years now. I really enjoyed the latest Cause & Effect. It was nice to see a staple of LBP1 sent off with a bang. Don't sweat it 'cause this isn't the last word on quality and if Obsidian Depths is only a nod, then up is down and left is right... and nothing is spotlight worthy in bizarro world. | 2011-01-12 12:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks, I'm over it now. Looking forward to finally creating an actual playable level again, in LBP2. | 2011-01-12 12:13:00 Author: TripleTremelo Posts: 490 |
