Is it possible to have sackbots change size during a level?

Archive: 5 posts

I've been getting hyped up a lot for LBP2, and one thing i'm wondering is this: Can you make it so that a Sackbot can change size during a level? I mean, is it possible to set it up to work for things like a cutscene or a gameplay mechanic that could be used?

A few examples to explain it would be like a cutscene of a scientist growing a creature to mamoth size, and then letting it loose, or if you were doing a fish-eating-fish minigame you could set it to where every time you 'ate' a fish, you grew a bit. Maybe could also be used to grow/shrink other sackbots for interestin mechanics (small sackbots fit through small spaces and jump higher, while big sackbots can grab big stuff, but jump lower).

So yeah, just to ask the people who were in the beta: Is it possible to set it up to do sackbot size changes during a level, whatever the purpose may be?

I'm not in the beta but I know this can be done.
You just use a destroyer on your sackbot and emit a larger or smaller one in it's place.
You can control the newly emitted one by setting the sackbots to receive a signal from controlinator, I don't know the details of that because, like I said, no beta.

In conjunction with Radishlord's suggestion, you can use the various new destroy and emit effects for the desired effect.2011-01-11 01:17:00

I don't actually have beta, but I've seen a Mario World level on YouTube that uses this effect.2011-01-11 01:22:00

Someone made a concept level within the first fortnight of beta doing exactly that ^^

Triangle switched you between a big and little version of your sackboy, on the spot. Was very cleverly done.

So yeah :d
