Press start, it's at the top of the pause menu. And I use it when I need to make steps. Poorly made steps are a waste of time.2008-11-07 17:29:00

Since the level I'm working on is (for now) taking place in a natural environment I haven't had use for the grid tool... but once I start making buildings/vehicles grid mode will be a life saver =)2008-11-07 17:35:00

It's very useful for making machines and things like that where the moving parts slide right exactly up next to each other.2008-11-07 18:43:00

i use it quite a lot actually. when creating level design and areas to walk and and jump to i'm not sure it's as valuable, but i find it very useful when creating complex objects or things with moving parts. i'm creating a piano right now and it's invaluable. although you must watch out, objects that are touching on the grid will indeed cause friction against each other so sometimes (with the piano keys) i made the objects with the grid and then shrunk them JUST a little bit with the grid turned off. then i turned the grid back on to align everything. nudging was still needed here and there but i find the grids very helpful. (i'm also just really anal...)2008-11-07 18:48:00

I love using grid mode. It's perfect for when things need to be lined up with great precision. It makes your level look cleaner, but it often takes away from the naturalness of the level. So it's a great and definitely welcomed feature, but there's a time for it and a time where it's not needed I suppose.2008-11-07 18:53:00

If something needs to be neat and precise, use grid mode.

If you want to make something really quick, don't use it.
