How was the winds coming out of pipes in mt. peanut of LBPC: The Game made? It is a really cool effect.

Joey just had a bunch of invisible material emit from the pipes at a very high velocity. So the "wind" is really just really fast blocks of metal or wood that push you. Then he added the rockets for visual effect.

Since the wind is actually physical, if you add anything in the way it won't push Sackboy... which is why we didn't have any bubbles in that hallway.

So yep, have emiters emit a bunch of invisible small materials at very high speeds.

Incidentally, if you don't want your invisible wind objects to make noise on impact, you can stick the music note sound effect on it, set it to "e-drum hi hat" and, using the d-pad (it won't work with the analog stick), press right on the sound tweaker three or four times. Each time you'll hear the sound get higher, but on the third or fourth (can't remember which), you won't hear anything: it's an empty sound. Now set it to "on impact" and your wind object won't make a sound when it hits anything. If you set it to "on destruction," you can get rid of the smoky disappearing sound when it demits or dissolves.2011-01-13 17:38:00
