Directional emitters?
Archive: 7 posts
I'm testing tech for a level series that I'm planning to make after release, and I've got a tech situation ^^ I have a sackbot and I'd like it to emit objects in the same direction as his arms are pointing, though I can't figure out how. I thought that using a joystick rotator attached to an emitter in the sackbot's microchip would work, but I can't figure out how to hook them up to one another Any help would be appreciated (: Thanks in advance | 2011-01-09 15:03:00 Author: Unknown User |
Hmmm, this may be a little hard to explain. O=Emitter -->= Emitted Direction A= Arm AO---> Now, say you move the arm UP 45 degrees. The emitter will thus be affected, and emit up 45 degrees than where you originally planned. | 2011-01-09 15:20:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |

Are you talking about attaching the emitter directly to the arm, because I've tried, but haven't prevailed >.< Not sure if that's what you mean, sorry | 2011-01-09 15:31:00 Author: Unknown User |
You can't attach an emmiter to the arm, however you could have an invisible piece of hologram that is set to follow a tag inside the sackbots microchip. You can angle the emmiter on that piece of hologram so it looks like it is shooting from his arm. Then joystick rotator on the hologram that is controlled by the controllinator. To have it only shoot when the arm is aimed simply use an and switch attached to the emmiter that has R2 and whatever button you are using for shoot attached as inputs. Hope that makes sense. | 2011-01-09 15:57:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |

Tried it and it works, thanks ^^ | 2011-01-09 16:34:00 Author: Unknown User |
