Swing Into Action! My first real try at a level, sackboy swings into action by grabbing a wheel and spinning! I will really appreciate any feedback and anyway possible that can help me make good levels! Hope you like it and please play it! http://lbp.me/v/davidhow | 2011-01-07 21:02:00 Author: Unknown User |
These kinds of levels are pretty charming. Sometimes it's nice to have a break and play something so raw and all about simple gameplay. My biggest suggestion: Instead of just long sections of walking, put some blocks or something to jump over. Look in the top left of this picture (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_OilUKybD5XQ/SPZIZZwhLHI/AAAAAAAABj4/q_tTQdhGU9I/s1600-h/pp8.jpg) to see what I'm talking about. If you get stuck for ideas, try this (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OilUKybD5XQ/SPZJEoLF5xI/AAAAAAAABlA/k76S2FXN7nw/s1600-h/pp17.jpg). Remember to have fun creating. Also you should add more New Zealand stuff to your New Zealand levels. Oh, and play the level in my signature, it gives tips on how to make your levels better. | 2011-01-08 09:11:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
I agree with heist. It is a fun little level but it could use some work which is why for now I have only rated it it 3 stars. I would also like to add that instead of using every material in the game (which you seem to have done) you should stick to using 2 or 3 and try and get a theme running throughout the level, or if you must use a lot of different materials split the level into sections and give each section a theme (such as wooden, industrial, disco / funky etc) it will make it less haphazard and more visually pleasing | 2011-01-08 18:36:00 Author: cthulhu82 Posts: 211 |
Thanks for the feedback and I will make these changes to my levels in the future! Will play your levels soon! | 2011-01-08 19:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
here's my step by step review +the slide at the start is cool. it gets you right into the action! +music selection! i wish every level had this. well except levels that need the right music to set a particular mood. -the wheel spins too fast! it took me several tries to get onto that ledge to the right. too difficult for the first obstacle. -visible dark matter looks gross in almost any level :c i'd try to hide it if i were you -your spring board after the glass section seems to be glitched. my sackboy constantly tries to walk right while he stands on it! -the thing i grabbed onto and slid across the glass on fell down in front of me and pushed all the score bubbles into the electrified pit :c -after the jet pack part and right before the swinging sponge balls, theres a long thing hole cut into the back wall. -the "watch out for spikes" isn't enough warning to help players avoid the spikes on that wall. the spikes seem a little unnecesary as they're not easy to land on unless you try i gave it 2 stars. it's nice to see new creators that are actually trying to get better! i hope you keep creating and keep improving! for F4F please play: ginormo burger | 2011-01-10 00:25:00 Author: harbingernaut Posts: 126 |
I knew the spring board was glitched but i didn't know what to do about it but thanks for the feedback! My brother does levels on the PSP and his popularity on LBPC Rose because he made good levels that made me want to make levels too! Thanks again and I will play your Level Soon! | 2011-01-10 07:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
