play mode sensor
Archive: 9 posts
Searched the forum, found no mention of it. It must have been discussed by another name. A 'play mode sensor' would solve lots of emitter/one shot problems in create mode. Seems an easy tool to make also. | 2011-01-07 19:43:00 Author: snarkwise ![]() Posts: 53 |
Isn't their a feature where the create mode level can be paused from the beginning? If not you can have everything turn on once they become near the entrance. (and just dont go near the checkpoint in create mode) | 2011-01-08 00:59:00 Author: Tristanjmnz ![]() Posts: 70 |
I don't see why you can't just pause. :I | 2011-01-08 02:33:00 Author: RJA00000 ![]() Posts: 387 |
You COULD just enter and rewind, that's reset it to before you enter, and pause it. Problem solved! | 2011-01-08 02:55:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
With that sensor it might be pain to debug things, besides you can always use toggle and set the state manually via tweak to turn and turn off things in create mode instead | 2011-01-08 04:42:00 Author: Shadowriver ![]() Posts: 3991 |
Seems an easy tool to make also. There's probably a better way than this, but you could exploit the fact that (IIRC) score doesn't register in Create Mode, so create a logic setup which uses Score Givers to do +10 then -10, and then have a Score Sensor set to 10 points fed into a p-switch. In theory, the output of the p-switch would only be true when in play mode. | 2011-01-08 20:28:00 Author: Aya042 ![]() Posts: 2870 |
(IIRC) score doesn't register in Create Mode, It does. It just doesn't display, which is a massive personal gripe of mine, tbh. | 2011-01-08 22:15:00 Author: rtm223 ![]() Posts: 6497 |
Yeah, you can hear a multiplier sound in create if you destroy creature brains quickly | 2011-01-08 22:21:00 Author: Radishlord ![]() Posts: 706 |
It does. It just doesn't display, which is a massive personal gripe of mine, tbh. Because it registers in create mode or because it doesn't display? You COULD just enter and rewind, that's reset it to before you enter, and pause it. Problem solved! I don't see why you can't just pause. :I You make it sound like you never dissolve/emit things by accident! But I agree with shadowRiver that it might make debugging harder... but of course the use of the sensor would be optional, so you'd use it on something that you already got working. | 2011-01-09 00:40:00 Author: snarkwise ![]() Posts: 53 |
