Deadly Complex

Archive: 21 posts

As the description suggests, you test out a new technology
At heart, this is a puzzle level with a fancy gimmick: the ability to pass through solid objects! I made some tricky stages using this
I drew lots of inspiration from the game 'Portal' while making this, but It's still my own, and it's like no other level.
Oh, and there are even a few well hidden easter eggs for the more adventurous players
Really, really bad things happen when you play in multiplayer, I can't explain it :/

any lbp level that has test chambers reminds me a lot of portal. it even has the part at the end where you escape the test chambers and it's all rusty metal at broken pipes, etc.
also the last speech bubble in the level says "still alive" which i can only assume was a portal reference?

anywho...great level! i don't know what glitch you were using but you did a pretty good job! the level looked nice, had really fun gameplay and...had pretty much no bugs or problems, lol

i gave it :star::star::star::star::star:/<3

for F4F please play ginormo burger

Yes all similarities to portal were intentional
It's a glitch of my own creation, it's a secret at the moment. I'll play your level later

Hello Radishlord,
Here is some feedback

Pros
+definately original type of gameplay
+the ability to switch between modes to negotiate obstacales
+the perminant stickered materials was cool
+progressively difficult stages

Cons
-the instructions for the use of a vent appeared AFTER a used the vent by accident (stage 3?)

Summary
good job incorparating this "glitch" into a complex strategy game, I enjoy. thanx

:star::star::star::star::star:<3

Side note
-It only goes to stage 5 due to construction, or did I bail out to quickly?
-and i believe a lot of players may get stumped on stge 2 where the player must turn ghost mode off, then walk behind the wall.

You're supposed to figure out that you have to use the vent, I gave a little hint if I remember.
Err, it goes to stage 7 and then an outro to the level Maybe you didn't know to go up the shaft at the beginning of 5? There's a grab switch there to direct the players but I may add a little R1 sticker if people aren't getting it.
Thanks for feedback

I just queued up Deadly Complex and I'm looking forward to playing it and posting feedback. I'm interested to see in action this glitch you discovered.

This level rocked! The stage with the vent was the hardest because your oh so subtle hint totally went over my head...
My only criticism is that the last stage wasn't all that difficult. Unless I missed something.. maybe there is another ending that isn't as bad

Also want to add, no clue what glitch you used for "ghost mode," but I loved it. Made it very unique compared to everything else I've played.

Man this level was awesome! The gameplay and puzzles were very cool and original, and the thing where you have to toggle ghost mode made it even cooler! The story was really great, portal being one of my favorite games I always love it when people reference it in their levels.
I especially liked the easter egg with the cake that says "I am NOT a lie!" LOL
The visuals were great, way better then I expected based on the patch, which brings me to my only complaint, the patch. It doesn't look very pretty and might keep a few people away but really thats thing only tiny thing wrong with what is otherwise a REALLY good level!

5 stars and a heart! F4F: Fight for justice... link is in my sig.

I know. I had some other ideas but they didn't work out very well, and I didn't want to asplode the thermometer too much.

I realised I needed a badge and knocked that up in 5 minutes Doesn't seem to have deterred people anyway O_o
Might as well have a shot at making a new one, I'm no longer worried about leaving the level too late and getting no plays....
EDIT: Made a cool new level badge

I'll play all the F4F levels in one go, maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

++ Awesome use of the glitch creating unique gameplay.
Having to scroll back to the sticker switch after death was annoying. Nothing you can do about it though.
+ Platforming in the middle to break it up, just what I like.
+ Rotation.

Nice level, had no problems. Hearted. <3
I keep bringing up LBP2 in my recent reviews, but this level would play a lot smoother if you had a ghost toggle built into another button or something.

Great level. You made very cool use of your ghost mode gameplay mechanism. The puzzles were well designed (nicely progressive difficulty) and it was a good idea to introduce some platforming to break things up. I had a lot of fun playing.

It was probably something I did wrong rather than a bug but on one playthrough I hit a problem on level 5. Every time I got to the green light area and was gassed it took me back to the beginning of level 5 rather than on to 6. Worked fine when I restarted, though, so as I say probably my fault.

Very cool level. I look forward to playing your levels in LBP2!

No, that's a bug
I think the checkpoint at the start of stage 6 is being destroyed too early, before you even get there, and it reverts you back to the one halfway through stage 5. I'll look in to it later.

What did you do to break it? Breaking is never good

Ok maybe i should not have said "broke" . The sign that said ghosting on off stopped working (and then i got pretty confused about what was going on ), when i started spamming the stickers to see what happend. But the thing is it did not happen in a previous room, so i thought i could just be lag or something.
