LBP2 Connectivity?
Archive: 5 posts
Right, so I played LBP (I haven't played it over a month) with my little brother in New Zealand (I live in Japan) And... the lag was horrible. Not horrible in the sake that we couldn't play with each together... but there was like a 1 to 2 second delay to everything I did. I press the jump button and i takes 1 second to respond. It's still pretty annoying... Is LBP2's connection going to be better... or is it going to stay the same??? | 2011-01-06 05:14:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
It all depends on your connection, and how complicated the level is. Delayed jumping may be caused by a complex level with lots of spotlights, moving objects, etc. | 2011-01-06 06:37:00 Author: booXely Posts: 654 |
I know what you mean. My connection is horrible resulting in (sometimes even) a five second delay. It's horrible! But I can't be sure that LBP2 will be better, so the best precaution is to get a better connection, or for you brother too. | 2011-01-06 07:17:00 Author: tomodon246 Posts: 624 |
It's not the connection to the serves (I have a T2 6.3 connection and so does he), it's the ping issue between the 2 players. We can play Uncharted 2 Co-Op without any lag... and many other games like Team Fortress 2 on the PC without any lag.... but LBP lags..... I tested it on a number of levels.... and it's all the same. Even in a blank level we lag but it only happens with I play with other players with high ping. I know LBP is an complicated game... but I just wish MM finds a better way for multiplayer.... I just find it sad when I can't play with my friends just because they live in a different country from me. We live in 2011 peoples! The sea is no longer the barrier!!! | 2011-01-06 08:50:00 Author: snowyjoe Posts: 509 |
LBP2 is P2P game same as LBP1, so when you play with your friend you connecting to his console or him to yours (depending who is host), if you guys are far or your countries (your ISPs to be more exact) don't have good routing to each other, you definitly gonna suffer lag. You can check how your connection doing on specific parts of the world on this site: http://www.speedtest.net/ Oceania regions are known for connections issues with other coutries | 2011-01-06 13:31:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
