Ok i was creating a level, everything was going great, nothing going wrong, a perfect create session imo. I had alot in the level i was working in, i went back a little in the level to un-glue a checkpoint, repositioned it, unpaused, and BAM, everything fell apart. every. single. block. just completely collapsed, stuff started crunching, pistons disconnected, everything. I rewind a few steps back and know that that part of my level is severely bugged, i move something else in the level, same result. This bug is a HUGE problem in the game, and has the potential to lose fans, i know i lost some faith in the creator some when this happened. this NEEDS to be fixed ASAP!2008-11-07 02:13:00

I hate it when stuff like this happens =/

i'm forced to try to make some areas separate from another area, even if it means using dark matter.

wow dude, i would go mental if that happened to me, that is why i'm holding off on the creation portion of the game till they fix all the bugs.2008-11-07 02:15:00

the thing is i dont see how they missed this bug in the final testing stages of finishing this game, or why they shipped the game with a bug THIS experience ruining2008-11-07 02:21:00

Bug was present in beta, but i think its prevalence was less of a issue it happened to me once, and what i had to do is pause everything and manually glue everything back together. but i dont remember pistons and all that comming appart, unlucky though mate. its a shame i dont really know how it occurs, so i cant prevent it from happening2008-11-07 03:52:00

This almost ruined one of my levels, but with an INSANE amount of patience i re assembled it piece by piece. You're right this bug needs a patch, pronto.2008-11-07 03:54:00

I don't consider this a bug but I haven't actually had that exact problem. Things usually go nuts for me when I accidentally grab the wrong item and try to move it or delete it. I found it best to place the checkpoints when I feel I'm close to the finishing the level.

I'm starting to think the amount of time you hold the unglue button may have an effect on the amount of items unglued. Not sure though.

Just another idea... was the checkpoint glued to more than one object? The floor and a wall? A joint between two sections of a wall?

i think this type of thing happens to people who use glue way more than they should. every time you glue stuff together, it's considered one object. so when you take the glue off that ofject, it takes the glue off of every jointed area. the result is, your entire level is held together by glue, and one ungluing completely tears your level to shreds.
sad, this thing happens to me quite alot actually D=

Umm, never happened to me EVER. I don't unglue, I just click the object and "detach" it, everything stays perfectly normal.2008-11-07 08:21:00

I've had this happen on more than one occassion. It usually happens when you have a background wall that you're gluing stuff to. Even more infuriating is that you can't make layers invisible, and you can't rotate the camera very much... I just don't understand some of these design choices.2008-11-07 21:51:00

thats what everyone means by "un-gluing"

I'm sorry to bump this topic after a month, but has this issue been addressed by the devs? It's actually more common than most of us would like....

It's asinine to have to detach shapes that automatically glue together and bolt them. It's archaic and clumsy.

Yeah this should be one if not the top problem in MM's list. It is mentally self-damaging for the creator and physically damaging to the level.2008-12-08 01:04:00

And to think that people are foolish enough to say we should accept this game "as is" with bugs like this. I just don't understand their logic.

One of my "favorite" bug is when things fall apart, even when I've got the level in pause mode.
