Hey all! Coming here with my last level for LBP. Its a winter theme story level series where the King and Queen is in a bit of trouble but Sackboy is here to save the day. I went back old school so it has some tricky parts and doesn't have many infinite life checkpoints. Sabre_ has made part 2 so go try his out too to complete the series . Special thanks to Mr. Orange, Ninjamicwz, Sabre_ and zynax555 for ideas and technical support.

Thanks to the following people for testing: Danielmt8, kallio99, Lfiers, talbottrembler, K3NDRAKRAY, jaslow, booXely, zerotiger99, Lockstitch, dragonvarsity, Silence_Rai, Ladonna2, PSYNTENS, nitewalker11, Bmoney2310, Aquila_Shock-99 and PrincessK12.

I had a blast with this one Light! Overall atmosphere and simple yet fun gameplay kept it entertaining to the very end. I almost lost it when I realized it wasn't infinite lives..made me slow down for once! As always...5 stars!

Hey dude! Sweet level! I loved the changing styles, the characters were good too. All the visual switches and buttons made it feel like an Mm level. Also the ice running was a lot like Frozen Village's, not that that was a bad thing. I thought the snowmen boss at the end was creative and I loved how you put secrets in. I found all of them because once I discovered the first, I had to find them all!

Great level, :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

I'll play it when I get enough time or something like that... Anyway, what I tested was fantastic and I particularly like the beginning with all the snow. Speaking of snow, I'm expecting to see more of it or else! (Empty threats are my favorite.)2011-01-06 04:26:00

It is a cool level badge.

I saw this in create mode (level) and it was amazing! The effort you put into it is superb!!! I CBA to make level this close to LBP2, good to see someone can. Brightens everything up 'round here (LBP). I can't wait to see what you make in LBP2.

Level is :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3

Nice job, dude!

Thanks everyone! Glad everyone is enjoying the series. I thought not having infinite life checkpoints would turn players the other way. Glad some players still like a challenge every once in awhile.

@ Aquila_Shock-99

Sorry Aquila. have added you to the tester list

@ Zynax555

You got your wish . Hope you enjoy the ending

Dude, how do you release levels so often?! O_O

+ Oh snap. That "grab the thing and run to turn the wheel" is a nice idea.
The rest is good also. No problems.
Lack of infinite checkpoints made it more interesting.
Glad that one below the four snowmen was infinte though.

One suggestion: Delay the activation of the magic mouths by a few seconds each.
You get to see the result of your actions that way. (falling logs/snowmen deaths/etc)
EDIT: I think at least 3 MMs need delays.

LOL I dont know. I think its some kind of impulse problem. Every time I end a level I start a new one. I think on lbp2 Ill be taking my time on levels for now on.

Yea I liked that idea too and wanted to have more gameplay with the wheel but I guess Ill save it for another time.

Are you refering to the speech bubble after killing the first two snowmen? I think thats it...Ill go add the delay in. i have nothing else to do XD

Thanks for the review bro

First-off, thanks for your wonderful offer... i'm not worthy.

So FF started off a little slow for me... after hoping along the top and over the Mt. i didn't comprehend some of the bubble placements.

"Nice drawbridge!" I think to myself, and so it begins... this level is perfect from here-on-out.

It's noticeable and nice to get out of the wind... the puzzle is very satisfying. next up the perfect marriage of gameplay and logic and aesthetics... *gosh* this might be love! those three rolling swinging bouncing things!

Characters are animated and charming... the layer usage...brilliant amazingly alarming. This level is a masterwork of layout and mechanics.

One personal opinion... I'm left with the impression, the yellowish/gold light you used to illuminate much of this underground portion is applied in too wide of strokes, over-saturating tends to 'flatten-out' this spectacular world of layers. maybe not... just a thought

Loved the scoreboard lift at the end... capable of some cool effects is the ol' scoreboard... Really impressive level.

I totally loved it! There were some places I had to think a bit before I could move on (the Wheel for example...I thought it was stuck before I realised that pressing x might also be a good Idea ), but these things made me love it

Thanks for the review Glad you liked the level. Most people said those 3 carts are the highlight of the level. I just wished I could have done more with them. Are you talking about the areas where you can grab the clouds? Those are kinda like secret areas. Most players would go straight for the well area instead of actually looking around, atleast that was the case with my testers. Hmmm which areas were there too wide of zone from the lights? Ill gladly make it less brighter or bring the radius down.

Thanks janining! Alot of my testers had trouble with that area but i didnt want to change it. Thought it was a reasonable gameplay/logic mechanic. Glad you liked the level. Ill try one of you levels out today too.

SSShhhh-- yeah the s-e-c-r-e-t- area. Just one grouping of 4 seemed odd and tucked under.2011-01-07 17:30:00

This level is a must-play for sure! The lighting, music and challenging platforming really create a tense and exciting experience. You will not play this level leaning back on the couch with your feet up, at least I didn't. I really enjoyed the carts with the brake-release- very original! I've played it twice and still haven't found all the secrets, and I look forward to playing it again!2011-01-07 22:21:00

Hmm I think you're talking about the bunch under the ledge. If so those are for when a player slides down the ice ramp. If you have enough speed you get a better combo from the ramp obstacle.

Thanks for the review! Now I really wished I had done more with those carts. Ideas are just spawning in my head.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it Wish I couldve made it longer.

Also did some work on the level. Hopefully it makes the experience better.

- Added a pulsating "x button" when grabbing the styrofoam above the wheel in the 1st puzzle roomto give a better clue on how to speed it up.
- dimmed down some lights and thier radius. Were too bright in some areas.
- Added about a 2 second delay to the cutscenes in the boss room.

Also, I wonder has anyone seen/done the 3 ways of killing the top, left snowman? 1 is kind of hilarious. Ill just say it involves doing nothing, lol. I need to make a cutscene for it though. Would add to the boss fight I think.

Played this last night and the level is SPECTACULAR. I rarely give out 5 stars but this one certainly deserves it.

+ Excellent detail throughout the whole level.
+A good length. Not too long or short.
+Killing evil snowmen is awesome.
+Replay value. I need to go back and find all the secrets.

- Nada.

5 stars and a heart.

Hey bro, if you thought that i would forget to go ever since i played your levels as you know and as i have always felt great, now that we're almost LBP've done a good memory of all the characters making history major and i have been great, i really like the idea, the development is quite fun and snowmen have been epic no doubt which is an excellent level, the area of the castle is fun, fun, and i must admit you have done i die a few times in the attempt but that game has been great lighting, and design.

I have given :star::star::star::star::star: & <3

Very, very enjoyable and beautiful. You really made a bunch of improvements and added a TON more to the level just in a few days time. It's uncanny... o.O

I think my favorite part was fighting the snowmen. I felt powerful.

I can't wait to see what your mind has in store for us in the coming months.

Great level! The gameplay is really original, challenging and very fun to jump through. You had me going "ooooh, that's clever!" several times there. I didn't like the water part though, just a bunch of waiting. This is especially frustrating if you're playing the level a second time, looking for secrets and such. The boss fight felt kinda meh for me too. At first it worked great, but the last bit were you're supposed to smash the boulders into their machines felt kina off. It was so hard to get them into the holes and when you did it they went so slowly to that they shouldn't had been able to kill them.
Apart from the bossy and the water part the gameplay is a blast though! You had me retry two or three times (mostly because of my teamate <_< ) and everything felt smooth and good.
The level looked great overall, although I prefer levels with a tiny bit more colour.

Oh! One thing! Since the level focus so much on points (brilliant multipliers dude!), wy would you hide the scoreboard by making it super-small and putting it behind a bunch of glass? Sure it looks great going up to the waiting sequel, but highscore-hunters won't be ale to acces their score too easily.

But yeah! Overall a very polished, fun and good-looking level! I really loved it in the end.

5 stars, and a heart so that I can find it again for some point hunting. Great work dood!

Thanks for your reply. Yea I had a few complaints about the water wait. Ill shorten it. XD The boulder/sponges arent meant to smash the snow machines. Since they emit snow I meant for it to block and stuff the snow machine until it explodes, lol. Also theres 2 ways to get the sponge to the hole . Hope that clears that up a little. I thought the same about the scoreboard. Ill try to fix that problem asap. Thanks again for your helpul suggestions. Glad you enjoyed it .

Hey L1GhTmArE,

I happened to stumble on your level from the cool pages and haven't had a chance to get on LBPCentral lately.

You never cease to amaze me. Your levels are epic. This particular level had everything from challenging platforms to intuitive thinking to well versed boss fights.
All in all, a very well designed level. I look forward to your LBP2 levels. 5:star:'s and <3ed
