Creating a glowing outline picture

Archive: 6 posts

This method creates a picture with a high tech kind of look, that shows a complete outline of the objects you are taking a picture with. A few handy things about this trick is that it can take a picture of the entire object, including parts behind layers. If you want to show off a particularly complicated object, you might find this useful.

(Also notice this picture isn't the best because I forgot to switch the darkness again, and to be honest, I'm too lazy to go take another picture.)

NOTE: 2 players will be needed to properly complete this.

How it Works:
1. First pull up the object/objects you want to create a picture outline of. I'm using the LBPCentral logo.

2. Then have 1 sackperson choose which color the pictures outline will be in by changing their pop-it color.

3. Now pull out the capture object tool with that sackperson and highlight what you want to take a picture of. I would also suggest changing your lighting tools to these to make a near perfect blackness.

4. This will highlight all parts of the object giving them an outline corresponding to the pop-it color.

5. Now have the 2nd sackperson pull out there Picture tool (whatever it's called) to take get ready to take a picture of it.

6. With the 1st sackperson, be sure to move the capture tool outside of the picture zone to ensure it does not show up in the picture, unless of course, you want that effect.

7. Now finally, take a picture! Experiment with front and game view to see what you prefer.

Some tips:
- Changing the lighting to full darkness and adjusting the lightness can create a good black background. Or choose whatever colors you want as a background.

- You will not be able to take pictures of you sackperson because they of course are not objects.

-Using a font with it can make a text that mimics the VR Grids but can have a different color outline. Using this can create a good looking sticker or icon.

Hope you find this somewhat useful!

- Photos are in mixed-up order.
+ Looks nice and effective.
- Don't see where I'd use it.

Slightly interesting, butrather pointless/ useless trick actually, considering there's no real "why" to do it.2011-01-07 08:11:00

Well if a object has stickers and stuff all over it, this helps if you want to show off the underlying geometry, or if you want to make something as fancy as a high tech looking map for your level.2011-01-07 18:55:00

I like the idea, good job. I always hated how a pop-it shows up in your picture, now there's a reason!2011-01-09 19:30:00

it reminds me of blueprints with blue outline, its usefull and like all things important for the cummunity as a whole to know all thngs regarding the game, somone who finds this useless can disregard, but this game would be no where without people trying to do everything and push the game to its limits, so the most useless insignificant thing can become to somone else a savior for there level. so never delete or get rid of even the least intresting glitchs, somone will allways find it usefull.2011-01-12 16:22:00
