Combined Sticker Switch?

Archive: 10 posts

Ok, for the new level I am working on, I will have two sticker switches (with stickers you find in the level). These sticker switches, when BOTH have their respective stickers, will THEN move the pistons, allowing the platform to fall, so that then you can go back up and finish the level.

However, I have a few problems with this- first of all, I make the sticker switches, set them to On/Off, then attach them to the pistons once the thing is near the top of the room. However, when I connect the sticker switches to the pistons, it just keeps moving even though the sticker (which I'm just using a test one from story mode to test it) isn't on.

So, basically, what I'm asking is: How might I be able to make it so that you need to put stickers on BOTH sticker Switches in order to move it?

Have a separate little box. Have two small cardboard boxes inside the box. Connect the two together with a piston, and connect the other to the big box. Have a magnetic key on the box not attached to the big box. Then have one switch switch set to 'direction" attached to one of these pistons and the other to the other one. Once both pistons are at their full length the magnetic key should trigger a magnetic switch, which should be attached to the piston you want to move....

This actually works for many, many things. MM even did it in a few multiplayer sections, including the "frozen tundra"

Hm, I figured it might have had to go through a midway point... Ah well, I suppose doing it like that will have to do.

I think I understand what you're trying to do. You have an elevator, or some kind of platform that is pulled up by pistons. The pistons only activate after the player places a sticker switch trigger on not one, but both sticker switches.

A quick solution i've come up with is this:

Create a dark matter block and a wood block. Attach them to each other with a piston so the wood block will be pushed to the right. Copy the piston/wood/dark matter contraption you just made and flip it around so the new copied version will have the wood block pushed to the right. Set the pistons' max length so that the two wood blocks just meet with each other.

Put a magnetic key on one wood block, and a magnetic switch on the other wood block. Make the trigger radius on the magnetic switch small enough so that the wood blocks have to practically touch each other to activate the mag switch.

Now connect the leftside sticker switch to the left piston you just made and connect the rightside sticker switch to the rightside piston you just made. Set both switches to "Direction".

Connect the magnetic switch to the elevator/platform piston, and set it to On/Off.

When the player puts the sticker on the two switch triggers it will move the pistons forward which will activate the mag switch, which will activate your elevator.

Hope this helps!

Hmm. Here is what I can tell you. No single tool can have more than one connector tab connected to it. I'm gonna attempt to give you an explanation on how to do this, so bear with me, as it will be long (my explanation, not the actual process of doing this).

Imagine a stone box. This is Box A. On Box A is a magnetic key, meaning that Box A is the magnetic key.

Imagine another stone box. This is Box B. Box B is not a magnetic key. However, it has a piston connecting from its left side to a wall to its left. Let's call this wall Wall B.

Box A also has a piston on its left, connnecting it to Box B. This means that Box A is furthest to the right, then Box B, and then Wall B.

Even further to the right of Box A is a wall. Let's call this wall Wall A. Wall A has a magnetic key switch on it, which will activate when the magetic key on Box A is within trigger distance of it.

Take the connector tab from the magnetic key switch on Wall A and connect it to all of the pistons you wish to move on Your Boxes (not Box A or Box B).

Alright, so you have two objects that you will put sticker switches on. Let's call these Object A and Object B.

Take the connector tab from the sticker switch on Object B and connect it to the piston connecting Wall B and Box B.

Take the connector tab from the sticker switch on Object A and connect it to the piston connecting Box B and Box A.

Set both pistons so that they are fully contracted (at minimum length), so that both Box B is as close as it can be to Wall B, and so that Box A is as close as it can be to Box B.

Set both pistons so that when they are both fully extended (at minimum length) after both sticker switches on Object A and Object B have been activated (which moves the pistons), they will move the magnetic key on Box A in trigger distance of Wall A.

The magnetic key on Box A will activate the magnetic key switch on Wall A, which will move all of the pistons you wish to move on Your Boxes (not Box A or Box B).

There you have it. It was a long read, but I hope it was helpful and easy to understand.

Just put them in prize bubbles, if they're switch stickers, they will go in the rightful category when they open there Pop-it menu.

To put them in prize bubbles, you create one, and press x and put the sticker in it, pretty self-explanatory if you have used any tools.

Well, I did it, so you kinda wrote all that for nothing Clank.

What I did is essientally tie both sticker switches to two different dissolve things, and place a square block above it and a switch below it- when you put a sticker on one of those things, it turns one of the dissolve things off, so that when both are off the block falls straight down on the switch, thus moving the piston up and down so you can move on.
