Basic materials

with all our materials from lbp1 being carried over, does anyone know if say cardboard, a basic material most of us have, is lurking in a prize bubble in lbp2? what i'm trying to say is, will some materials be in both games and therefore create duplicates within our profiles? | 2011-01-04 19:33:00 Author: duffym871 Posts: 89 |
Why do you think MM will put BASIC materials in a prize bubble? They never will do it. They'll give basic materials ONLY if you import a profile without it or if you won't import LBP1 profile. But duplicate materials can be. Maybe not in final game, but they were in betaz | 2011-01-04 19:42:00 Author: darkphoenix Posts: 97 |
Hum, no, all the materials from LBP2 are completely different of LBP1's ones!.. So you have to ace the first game to have those first ones.... as for the basic materials they will not show up twice. The duplicate items in the beta was a bug...fixed by now I guess | 2011-01-04 19:44:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
So you have to ace the first game to have those first ones. Are you saying about basic ones or story ones? Of course none of them will be in LBP2 as prizes. But if game won't find basic materials in your profile, it'll give them. | 2011-01-04 19:52:00 Author: darkphoenix Posts: 97 |
so there will be entirely different basic materials this tome around, no basic cardboard, glass etc? | 2011-01-04 19:57:00 Author: duffym871 Posts: 89 |

Basic materials, glass, cardboard, other stuff will be available without LBP1... at least they should be. Do you really believe that MM will kick LBP2 only creators in balls by not placing basic materials to the game that need to run without LBP1 and forcing them to buy older game to get basic stuff? LBP2 is not DLC | 2011-01-04 20:00:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I was talking about all the collectables materials... though yeah I'm not sure how things works for the basic ones... I guess they are pre-integrated in the 2 two games, no matter your imported profile..meaning that they are not part of the saved profile... But I'm not sure.. | 2011-01-04 20:02:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |

Yea it hints that those materials may not be in game | 2011-01-04 20:11:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
What "it"? | 2011-01-04 20:15:00 Author: darkphoenix Posts: 97 |
so there will be entirely different basic materials this tome around, no basic cardboard, glass etc? I think if you have them in LBP then they should carry over to LBP2. No reason why they shouldn't. | 2011-01-04 20:17:00 Author: ADS_LEGEND Posts: 140 |

LBP2 is not DLC I think this ^ is the way it will be in LBP2. The Basic materials (Cardboard, Polystyrene, Wood, Glass, Rubber, Dark Matter, Pink- and Peach Floaty, Dissolve, Metal and Rock - did I miss some?) will most likely all be available from the get go to old and new creators alike. No need for anyone to find them in Prize Bubbles before being able to use them. Another note: Good thing we now have collapsable categories and fastscrolling up and down in the popit! Imagine how long the lists of materials will be when you have collected everything in LBP2 | 2011-01-04 22:32:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
I assume you mean these? http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_cardboard.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_glass.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_metal.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_polystyrene.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_rubber.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_sponge.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_stone.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/basic_wood.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/dark_matter.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/dissolve.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/peach_floaty.jpg http://www.littlebigresource.com/images/materials/pink_floaty.jpg I'd imagine so, some of them, like Dark Matter and Dissolve, are essential, and what else would they give use instead of the floaty? Plus, do you think they can bother coming up with new names for effectivly the same properties of a material they already made? | 2011-01-04 22:35:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
[...]some of them, like Dark Matter and Dissolve, are essential[...] Actually dissolve is useless now. Destroyers are the future. | 2011-01-04 22:55:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Well, someone explain why we have white matter? D: Unless, it's there for the purpose of the edges being sharp and not round around the edges. | 2011-01-05 00:15:00 Author: PPp_Killer Posts: 449 |

there is no purpose for it i guess Mm felt like dark matter needed its own companion :3 Maybe because it's more pleasant to look at and easier to blend into a level? Does it take a sticker better than dark matter? | 2011-01-05 01:25:00 Author: Biv Posts: 734 |
Actually dissolve is useless now. Destroyers are the future. Actually it is useful. It's a grabbable material that doesn't bubble out around the edge like sponge and it stickers very nicely. | 2011-01-05 01:53:00 Author: Kitkasumass Posts: 494 |

Yes, though in LBP2 you can set any material to grabbable with the material tweaker.. (as long with bouciness, friction etc) So I guess it's still here for retro-compatibility with LBP1 levels. | 2011-01-05 02:06:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
