EDGE Preview!

Archive: 22 posts

Hey, here's the EDGE online preview. This mag is notoriously difficult to impress and they seem pretty happy with the game .

Wow, I really like reading that lol.

Thispart got me too
this is a full-blown physics playground where you can design motors and even construct, as one team member has done, a rudimentary mechanical computer.

Thanks pillaysteven that's the best article I've seen about the game. I thought it was going to be another short read and got to the bottom and seen it was 4 pages! Can't help but read stuff about this game and wish you had it right now,and what you would create first if you had it. Going back to read it again. Thanks! 2008-08-06 14:08:00

No problem . Yeah I like EDGE articles usually, they're usually very interesting, professional and formal... the only exception really was their MGS4 review. The final paragraph was the biggest load of **** I've ever read by a professional journalist.2008-08-06 14:14:00

Edge Magazine:

With fairly low expectations for this aspect of the game, it's a revelation to come away with the sense that we?ve just played through some of the purest 2D design we?ve seen since Super Mario World.

Just remember our very own ConfusedCartman said it first: Comic Con Thread

LittleBigPlanet is so in depth, so customizable, so personal that there's no way to sum it up in words. You could say it is our generation's Mario; 20, 30 years from now you'll be telling your children that you got the chance to grow up with this game, and that's an experience you don't want to miss. All I can say is, if you are still on the fence about buying this game, don't hesitate.

they just took ConfusedCartman's words out of his mouth!
and I saw that someone liked to make a chain of levels, it is confirmed I think:

And to chain separate levels together to form a game?s different stages, the team has come up with a simple key system: for each level you build, you?ll get a different key added to your inventory. Simply add the key for your ice level at the end of your fire level, and you?ll warp from one to the other ? although why stay shackled to old-fashioned fire and ice when you could have corduroy or sandpaper levels instead?

Uhm.. its really not the same..

Catman was comparing the game to Mario, EDGE was comparing the gameplay to super mario world.. it is different things :/

Anywhoo...

nice read

and I also saw this:

LBP is broken into three discrete modes: Play, Create and Share. Initially, you?ll have to unlock Create by playing through the first few pre-made levels of Play (there are 50 in total).
it says that you first have to complete the singleplayer, before you can create

It says "First few premade levels", You don't have to complete it, although it might be a good idea.
