Heh, that's the internet for ya, there are always dimwits who don't read. Gamers are known to stick to what they know (FF7), and getting recognition is kind of a random thing anyway. Don't take it too hard.

And I think there's room for both projects.

Yeah, not many people on the internet are like proffesors and all that (L0lz ur such a n00b Bob! Hahehahaheheheheh), so I'm not taking it too harshly.

On a side note, as long as things get straighted out in the full game, I'll be fine.

I know exactly what you mean fang!

When that first lbp2 beta rpg concept came out, it wasn't as good compared to what i made in lbp1 (imo considering the fact that my system had so many more options)

Which is why it surprised me that it went viral on the internet.

it made me soooooo sad that i wasn't getting appreciated.

oh well at least my lbp2 beta level (which is better then both those levels (my old one, and the first beta rpg)) is on youtube now!!1

I think Chrree's remake has been praised a lot due to the accuracy of it. I haven't seen yours, but all of Chrree's work is never anything less than brilliant. I don't think the fact it got more publicity than yours had anything to do with the fact it was FFVII. I think it was just that one site picked it up, thought "Hey, this is cool!", posted it and all the other sites followed suit.

Also, The Spirits Within didn't cause them to go bankrupt and I'm glad they made it. Not only was it a great film, but it was a massive technological advancement on their part, and was a key factor in the graphics of FFXIII (Another game which is attacked for no good reason.)

Finally, I'm a writer who loves a bit of irony, so I'll just point this out:
"Ugh, no one can appretiate good writing anymore."
Anyway, don't take this post offensively, just stating my opinion.

did anybody get what this guy was talking about?
All I got that it was something about ff7..
but thats about it.

Did he make a point?
anything else?

(Another game which is attacked for no good reason.)I could give you plenty of reasons, from the perspective of a squaresoft fan (pre square enix)
from a hardcore gamers point of view, and from an enviromental artists point of view.

Well, honestly I really do like FF7. I honestly do...
It's just that well... idk. I had a little fit...
Anyways again... all of the games are great and such really. It's just... well...
I am a bit stuck at this point...
all I can say is that... Final Fantasy is feeling like it's slipping away from the 'fantasy' part of its name...
I mean sure modernization is good but 13 is shown like science fiction more than fantasy...
idk, all I can say is you kinda bested me right there... it's just that I...
I...

not fantasy enough was a complaint or general feeling that FF fans had about the series when it went to 7 and 8. Many felt that it was getting too sci fi, but I'm sure some fans said the same thing when FF6 (3 at the time) had mechs and industrialization in it. Probably 4 as well since you could go to the moon.

You'd never see anybody cite that as a complaint now, because it eventually only mattered how fun the game was & Square's pretty much always had their own 'brand' of fantasy where stone meets metal, metal meets stainless steel, and stainless steel meets plastic. fists meet magic, magic meets alchemy, alchemy meets steam, steam meets science, sea meets sky meets space and so on. That's a style that's become almost synonimous with Japanese fantasy. It was never quite Middle Earth.

Yes,
The story was boring,
felt like i was watching some crappy disney movie.
And the repetetiveness of combat bored me even more.

but.. thats my personal opinion, if you liked it.. go ahead.
