I tried saving a key to a not-ready-for-everyone level I am working on as a custom object and sending that to a friend so I could publish it as a locked level and allow him to come in and look at it, but that didn't work... is there any way to allow only certain people to see a level without them having to actually come to your home?

As far as I know there's no possible way... you could make a level with a combination lock and only tell the combination to them... a bit of a roundabout way but it would work, sort of... as long as nobody else guesses the combination of course

1) how do you create a key to a level? i've seen some locked levels on the community levels but didn't know how one could create a key and insert it in their level. 2) couldn't you invite your friend to your pod, go to the level in "my moon" and enter in play mode rather than create mode? this would just require that you play through it with him. 3) what about creating a sticker switch that opens a gate at the very beginning of a level that you MUST open to get anywhere, and send your friend that custom sticker. or does it require the sticker to be present in the level somewhere (the sticker switch instructions say something like "if the sticker isn't present, any sticker will activate it" and i wasn't exactly sure what that meant).

Here's how you send a key to a friend, and it is quite simple. Simply put the key on the ground in the level, then capture it as an object. Then send it to your friend and he should be able to play your level now.

how do you create the key? it's not in the tools bag with the checkpoints and prize bubbles where i'd expect it to be.

When you publish a level it places a key in your pop-it to use in your levels. Sorry i can't remember where it's located. You get a different key for every level you publish
