Your Favourite Song Ever?

Someone asked me this today and I struggled to answer. It's so difficult! I thought it was worth asking to see you all struggle.

I tried narrowing it to 3 songs which is still hard.

Ended up with this:

It's your favourite song *right now* - but tastes change, especially if you've heard a song again & again & again & again.
Even if you did used to like it, over-familiarity can breed contempt.

It's the old desert island disc question;
If you could only listen to 1 album for the rest of your life what would it be?
(if you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life you would probably get sick of it).

The question still remains, and people can hold on to their favourite songs for years or change their mind. They can still put whatever they think down.

I suppose the song that has remained my favourite for the longest period of time would be Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath.

But it's horses for courses... it's only if I'm in the mood for it, otherwise I've listened to it too much that I know every bar inside out & back to front.

Why limit yourself to only one song, or band or genre - there is more music out there than you can possibly listen to in a single life time - how do you know that your favourite song isn't one that you haven't heard of yet?		2011-01-04 16:24:00

I can't really name just one song because I listen to so different music depending on my mood. Instead, I'll list some songs that I have listened to a lot during my lifetime
