Goals in Life
Archive: 21 posts
Right now I'm only 14 and I've already set my self goals in life my goal in life is to set up my own business doing whatever(maybe making games:tophat obviously this would take alot of funding and time and therefore isn't that realistic as I'm not a millionaire or anything. So my question to you is should you set yourself realistic goals of always aim higher? | 2011-01-03 12:10:00 Author: MasterCreator Posts: 464 |
Both. You have the same goals as me. It's usually best to start out small and work your way up as time and success progresses. Instead of starting up a full blown gaming studio (which is an extremely risky venture BTW), try to learn how to make simple flash games and work from there. Work with a game development studio to see what skills/knowledge you will need in order to run your own game making business. As far as setting goals, it is important to keep them realistic but don't be afraid to set higher ones if you think you're ready. Also, make sure you set specific goals as well. For example, let's say you want to raise up the money you need to start the business. Instead of saying I need to raise enough money in the next couple of years, try saying I need to raise ?500,000 in the next 10 years. It's easier to follow goals that are more specific because you will push yourself harder to make the goal deadline. | 2011-01-03 21:56:00 Author: Enlong3 Posts: 357 |

I guess these are more "philosophical" goals, but here they are. I would like to live a healthy, happy, long life. Preferably up to a hundred. I would like to move to France. I would like to start a small European-style Cafe and raise enough money for a comfortable retirement. I would like to travel the world with a few of my friends. I know these are aimed really high, but, one can try! | 2011-01-03 23:51:00 Author: dragonember Posts: 607 |

It could take many years before you accomplish even step 1. Also, make sure to keep them realistic. Step 3 seems a little based on luck. Sometimes you can set up alternative plans/goals if you ask yourself the opposite of what you want to accomplish. Instead of saying "I'm gonna make a ton of money off my indie game", ask yourself "what if I don't make a ton of money from the game?" You have to set alternative plans of action. It's very possible that you aren't able to find any buyers for your game and are forced to look to alternative methods for raising capital. Maybe instead of making a lot of money from selling a game, you decide you can find someone who is willing to invest in your company. Your alternative plan of action would to go out and look for investors if your first plan didn't work out well. It's all part of keeping things realistic. | 2011-01-04 20:28:00 Author: Enlong3 Posts: 357 |
. Drink clean water . Talk like a 'Homie' . Reclaim the meaning of a Rainbow . Teach my Grandfather to use the internet . Stop swearing while driving . Become immune to all forms of pain . Eliminate 'something' . Awake the truth of who I am . Own a 'man-cave' . Get money without working . Have a Glowstick fight and win | 2011-01-04 20:42:00 Author: MrFunctionality Posts: 637 |

Has anyone one else noticed most people's major goal in life relates to the career they want? Anyway my goals are: Learn more advanced HTML Learn Javascript, php, and other codes someday. Learn more Photoshop Learn more Flash (or animation and video editing in general) Learn to overclock computers (Kind of accomplished this, I've upped my clock speed from 2419Mhz to 2833Mhz but put it down to 2773Mhz to keep temps and errors in check) Get a job anywhere Get a job as a graphic designer. My ultimate goal would be to buy a Nissan 180SX modify it then go on a holiday to Japan for, preferably, 6 months or so with my car and race it at Tsukuba circuit. Shouldn't be too hard | 2011-01-05 01:15:00 Author: SR20DETDOG Posts: 2431 |
