How to improve the LittleBigVids *IMPORTANT*

Archive: 22 posts

Obviously, (like the title states) this thread is about the LittleBigVids (within which I talk about LBP PSP *watch this space.... AceCreator interview coming soon*)

Recently I've noticed a large drop in views for the LittleBigVids. I've done a bit of maths and worked out this:
The Average No. of views of episodes #1 - #6 was 214. 333 recurring.
But now though they have dropped quite a bit with the stats from #7 and 8# to 69 views (on average)

This may just be because of Christmas and the New Year which I'm hoping it is, but what if it's not?
Where have all the viewers gone?
Maybe because I announced I had a PS3 in LBV #6, PSPers have decided not to watch anymore?
Any ideas?

Maybe if I've lost viewers, how do I get them back?
I need some ideas to spread the word!
Ideas of what features to add into the LittleBigVids?
Maybe a Blog for the LittleBigVids?

I thoroughly enjoy making the LittleBigVids and love seeing everyone say nice things,
but if the views don't pick up a little more, then they may stop

Also, if your a guest on LBPC and your reading this and want to help get the views up, here's my channel with the LittleBigVids: http://www.youtube.com/user/CheezeBo2010

You may have noticed (Quest probably has) that every video I say 'Hello LittleBigPlanetians, it's me CheezeBo and it's time for LittleBigVid #(insert number here).

I'm trying to get some more art in!

If I talk about other games other than LBP, it's not really a LBP Podcast. Maybe I'll do some other videos on my channel, then people will see the Podcasts?

Ah you found him. He's been on here for a little while in my attempt to get him to play LBP more. I don't think he has been on much though.

More PSP, blog.

MORE? MORE? Let's hope someone who's seen Oliver Twist understands that joke thing... Anyway, sure. There's just been a shortage of PSP levels recently so I haven't covered much.

Blog... *runs to the oven...* It's cooking... metaphorically of course

You could add in reviews, but limit the numbers, so it isnt so boring to watch through like, five reviews, that would take a lot of time.
You could make 1 review and 2 showcases, I think that should be fine. And of course, its more interesting to see at the actual level, rather than you just playing it(like in littlebigvid #8) When you run out of psp levels, then why not pick one of these old gems that didnt get as much attention as they deserved?
Hope that helped

oh yeah, cliffhangers!
i.e: next week in littlebigvid...
i.e: ...and we'll continue that in next weeks episode
i.e: ...all that in a few minutes as we watch this LBP2 footage.
but not too much cliffhangers!

this is quite a tricky issue... who says anything with littlebig means it's littlebigplanet?
in other words: be like littlebigpodcast only different

don't take that all to seriously okay?

Do you actually own the BETA or do you just take videos from youtube? Because if you still do that like in LBV #2, then its almost senseless, since you pretty much know them already. But it could be that im the only one watching youtube vieos of it hours and hours long...2011-01-03 10:55:00

Sorry if I am a bit behind of LBVs because of Christmas and New Years Cheeze, I'll have to do some catching up. All the suggestions seem to be pretty good as well though. 2011-01-03 10:59:00

Haha! Brilliant! I must use some of this! I should really start planning ahead with the levels:
*in an awesome voice-over* "Next week, in LittleBigVid #9, I'll be inteviewing AceCreator all about LittleBigPlanet PSP!
That's all for now folks, bye for now, not forever!"

You could make 1 review and 2 showcases, I think that should be fine.

So, do a full review and then two clips?

And of course, its more interesting to see at the actual level, rather than you just playing it(like in littlebigvid #8)

I know. It was my bad, I told Taffey MP4 was fine, but I then found out it wasn't when it was too late to PM him. Ah well, it should be better this week

When you run out of psp levels, then why not pick one of these old gems that didnt get as much attention as they deserved?

Good idea! I know what I might include this week now... the first level (most distinctive) I ever played from the Community Moon. Ah, the memories *wipes tear*

Do you actually own the BETA or do you just take videos from youtube?

I don't actually own the beta but I take videos from Cog/CogSpartan459. I PM'd him ages ago asking if he could send me his videos, he said sure, gave me a youtube down-loader, and now I use his videos. I make sure to give him credit too!

Don't worry Dizzy! I thought that was probably the case with some viewers! Yep these suggestions are pretty helpful. I know where to look for LBV #9

Yeah. So. I find that when I watch your videos I'm skipping nearly half of it because of PS3 gameplay. I know you're really excited for LBP2, but a lot of us PSPers including me don't have a PS3 or any hopes of getting one. More PSP blog plz 2011-01-03 11:31:00

Blog, eh? Why does everyone want one so bad?

Anyway, I cooked up a blog for you guys! http://littlebigplaza.blogspot.com
If anyone wants me to post something there, just give me a shout!
If someone knows the Featured Levels & Players right now for PSP, I'll happily put that on there to balance out the fact I have MmPicks on there!

Why yes, I haz noticed!

now to the suggestions.

Lately, I've watched LBV#1-6,
I've watched none of LBV#8, and 5:23 of LBV#7.
I haven't been watching due to the holidays.
AND!
My computer, no sound and all.
My suggestions are to add some PSP stuff.

I think LBV has grown to soley show LBP2 clips.
Therefore becoming unrelate-able for us PSPers.
For instance:

(Insert PSPer Here) doesn't have a PS3, therefore when you start telling him/her about lights, water, multiplayer, ETC. he/she doesn't understand completely how it works.
This is because he'll/She'll never be able to try the things you're telling him/her. Fore He/She has no PS3 to try it on.
Like for me, I Sorta blank out when you show a ton of PS3 stuff, because I can't relate to any of it.
That only seems like part of the issue.

Another part is that the set date has now been removed. I can't expect it on Monday.
I just watch it whenever because I don't know the date it'll be shown.
So, it's kinda...Whatevaa, I'll watch it when I feeeeel like it......Dude.

The main reason for lack of views is the Holidays. People won't sit around on the computer all-day when they could be having a Christmas Dinner with their family. It's just a fact.

SO!!
Final suggestions:

Add more PSP stuff.
Set an exact date, and publish it on that exact date.
Take a Holiday break.

Hope that helps!

Or we don't give a crap about it since in my case I don't/ can't get a PS3. I don't watch them anymore since I know that they're basically going to be soley PS3.

Yeah, that's kind of what I said, only in a less open way.
Also:

Hey! That's the same case I have! Do you think we're brothers....Or something?

Thanks Quest, helpful stuff. Hopefully the AceCreator interview will boost views. Also that means lots of cool PSP talk
I am not very patient and being off for the holidays, I worked on them through the week.
Maybe soon some really well known creators will publish.

Hey CheezeBo I just have a couple of suggestions:

Personally, I haven't been watching the LittleBigVids recently because I felt that they didn't really relate to me being that they had a lot of LBP2 and LBP1 for PS3 clips in there. I will be getting LBP2, but I'm not as big of a fan of it along with LBP1 on PS3 since the community on the PS3 is so much bigger that I feel not enough people would be able to see my level no matter how good it is. It's like a 100 to 1 player ratio from PS3 to PSP, maybe more. (Random fact that I thought sounded close to being right).

I feel that you're more of an LBP PSP player too, maybe it's just me, but I feel like you started your videos on the PSP forums because you wanted to be different since there aren't any for the PSP yet.

With your last video, I think you did a great job having your sackperson be behind the desk. I think it was creative and it looked a lot more official and neat then having you be in your room at a desk (I don't know if it was your room but it looked like it could have been.)

One last suggestion I have is for you to make your videos shorter. With the last few that I've watched, I've ended up skipping around looking for the PSP parts or the things I found interesting. I think I speak for a lot of people in that they don't have time to watch 15 minutes of any video. Cutting it down to say 7 or 8 would be great to see!

Sorry if any of that sounded offensive it's not supposed to just suggestions.

So:

1. Less/No LBP2 Footage
2. Time length: Under 10 mins
3. More PSP Footage
4. jimydog's 'catchphrases' and 'cliffhangers'
5. Blog - Already done: www.littlebigplaza.blogspot.com
6. Same day for uploading every-week

Think that's all?
Anyway:
I'll see you ALL, on MONDAY, in the [PSP] News & Media, or maybe on the blog, for about 10 minutes, with no/hardly any LBP2 footage.

maybe you could have guests/ correspondants from different areas of the world, e.g..taffey could do a little bit for lbv and send it to you, me and fastbro live about half an hour from eachother so we could give something...I dunno, these are just ideas 2011-01-04 17:39:00

You may listen to Radio 1 and know about their 'Take Over' things they do.... maybe sometime I could do something like that?

Nice idea though, shame I don't think I can have two videos on one screen in Movie Maker. You may have seen the Media Molecule interview with LittleBigPodcast? I know Taffey has Skype, so if he had a webcam, then we could do like a dual screening episode... that'd be pretty cool! Or maybe I'll do like a Twitter Take Over... have requests coming in live?
