GhostSack (The Old Glitch)

Archive: 11 posts

Hello Everyone! Glad to be back

I was going to make a thread about this ages ago, but never got round to it and i'm sure now everyone knows it and it is rather old.

A few months back I discovered a new glitch in LBP1 which I named 'GhostSack'. He's just like a normal sackperson but with a few differences...

GhostSack:

Is Half Transparent (Like a Ghost of course )
Can go through ANY Material & Object in the game even lethal ones! (Apart from Gas)
Cannot be stickered/decorated or have any removed from him
Cannot be grabbed but he can grab you. You can slap him however but he can do the same in return!
Can use all powerups underwater

He also works on LBP2! If you import your LBP1 GhostSack profile or you create him there they'll both work. He's got the same abilities as he does in LBP1 and can use the new powerups such as The Grappling Hook underwater. But since patch 1.02 he's been 'broken' and you can no longer control his movement, even in Hover Mode making him completly useless there

And the big problem overall; in LBP1 or LBP2 he needs a Jetpack, Hover Mode, or another Sackperson or grababble object to hold onto or else he simply falls into the Abyss and dies
I'm aware that the majority of the community know this glitch now and some can even create GhostSack. Just thought i'd give a list of his perks and handicaps

Oh and this does NOT mean your PS3 is dying (GPU Hardware failure). That's the transparent costume bug which only makes you semi-transparent

That's all, see ya laterz

I've seen one of my friends have it before, pretty cool stuff. Did you know you can recreate falling through objects without the transparency? It's fun to mess around with and I built a level using it 2011-01-03 21:50:00

Heh, I've known how to do this for a while now. Too bad its potential so severely limited, and that so few Story levels have jetpacks. But it does have one major perk: it lets me easily and completely bypass the Bunker's hated "wheel of death". Without it I'd never have been able to ace the Bunker! 2011-01-05 01:10:00

I hadn't thought about using it to escape levels, must give that a try.
And seriously, the bunker isn't that hard

lol yes and I know everyone can do the glitch now. I had my few months of fun with it before I leaked out to the community lol

I aced that 3 years ago without GhostSack. In fact I'd never discovered him back then lol

It also allows for massive cheating in Jetpack Tunnel. There's also some logic there too, and you're right, it is weird. There's a perm switch, something that I assume is a randomizer, and something else that I don't remember.

BTW, if it's broken in LBP2, wouldn't it be possible to recreate it by using the Chrome Glitch on a Controllinated Sackbot? Just a theory, and I have no idea whatsoever if it would work since I don't have the beta...

A Speed switch, and permanant switch, and a randomiser is in Jetpack Tunnel. Also there is a rumour of there being an Mm easter egg. I have yet to chekc that out though

And no. GhostSack is broken in LBP2, end of. It's just a 100% useless glitch there now. I made another glitch though from GhostSack. Working dupicate Sackboys. Ever had 9 players in 1 game on LBP? I have amazingly... till the PS3 crashed lol

Follow the steps here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=37277-Copying-Sackboy) up to step 4. Then, have the copied player Hold to Retry, then turn off their controller and wait for them to disappear, then turn their controller back on. Mind you, this only works (properly) in LBP1; I haven't even tried it in LBP2 yet.

Oh, and Hazbell: I answered my own question. Chrome glitched controlinated sackbots are paralyzed in exactly the same way as ghost glitched sackpeople. Oh well...
