Level Limits in LBP2
Archive: 21 posts
Alright I did a google search and a search on these forums for an answer but still no closer. In LBP 1 we get like 20 levels on our my moon and are limited in the amount we can upload to the server. Are these limits the same or there in LBP2? Thanks. | 2011-01-02 17:00:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |
You are limited to 20 LBP2 levels and 20 LBP1 levels. So you'll be able to keep all your levels from LBP1, but you'll have 20 slots dedicated solely to LBP2 levels. | 2011-01-02 17:03:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Alright fair enough 20 levels each ok, but what about when you reach the 20 level limit can you upload the different levels and clear your MyMoon? Otherwise isn't that a pretty big limit to ONLY be allowed to create 20 levels overall? Thanks TC. | 2011-01-02 17:38:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |
Well there nothing sure we will be sure when someone will get the game, currenly looking on LBP.me there 20 limit for both, since there no diffrent level counters for LBP1 and LBP2 sepretly, also where LBP1 levels will be gone in LBP2, most likely on user earths so it's still mistery how this really gonna work | 2011-01-02 17:45:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Alright, just curious as other games like Spore etc allow unlimited creations, I would have thought the only issue would be HDD. Hmm. We'll see I guess, unless anyone else can shed some light here before it realises ofc. TC | 2011-01-02 17:55:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |

The 20 level limit is only for the levels you have published to your "My Earth". I don't know the exact number, but I think you have about 75 slots on your "My Moon" which you can use for anything you like Also you can publish, replublish and erase as much as you wish on your "My Earth", as long as you stay within the 20 published levels limit. Did that help? | 2011-01-02 18:00:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
In LBP 1 we get like 20 levels on our my moon and are limited in the amount we can upload to the server. Hum...actually on the moon we have like 80 level creation slots, but yeah we can only publish 20 online. Edit : Slaeden-Bob was faster than me | 2011-01-02 18:02:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
That does help yes thank you . So after the 20 level upload limit you can't leave all 20 up there you will have to take them down to allow more levels to be uploaded. Why would they limit it this way? I guess you can republish if anyone requests it, and 20 levels if there all good will take a long time anyway, but still it would be nice to know you didn't have a limit. whatever limit will be you can easily overcome it by create new PSN account and publish them there ;] | 2011-01-02 18:20:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Multipul PSN isn't exactly a effective method lol, but fair enough. I'll just provide adventures for people and if any get popular i'll leave them up I guess, and we can only hope that MM will let us have unlimited in the future, I guess its to stop spam a little though, but 1 level a week or something could work. I'm not sure, but I think the limit is there to prevent server overload. Knowing how some users like to spam publish the same lavel 20 times, I can't imagine what they would do if there were no limit At the moment now they have to create a new PSN profile and complete The Kingdom in the Story Mode (Da Vinci's Hideout in LBP2?) before they are able to publish their spam-levels to the servers. | 2011-01-02 18:26:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
Alright not to worry, I can work with it . Game is looking awesome, but I have LBP 1 at the moment and want to get good at levels on there. | 2011-01-02 19:12:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |
I don't know the exact number, but I think you have about 75 slots on your "My Moon 100 is more like it, when i filled the moon with level 1, 2, 3 .. 100 i didnt have any empty spots left. | 2011-01-04 23:48:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |

I think that we can easily put these limits to good use in LBP2. Backing up will come in handy, especially since many will be making multilevel games. I sugest, if your making one of those types of games, to publish your twenty, back them up, and then publish your next twenty and so on. | 2011-01-05 02:21:00 Author: TREMIC1 Posts: 263 |
TREMIC but from what im reading here, you can't have more than 20 levels published, so how does that work? This is the exact problem that im seeing with LBP, its all about creativity then they limit you in this way, its just stupid, they need to work on spam prevention methods and allow people to good greif because of that, not limiting the amount of levels on the server otherwise you basically only paying for the chance to share 20 levels. Yes, but can the server take more then 20 per user account? | 2011-01-06 01:03:00 Author: firstar Posts: 47 |
Firstar, the levels on the server should be made to work more like Spore's level generator where it doesn't cost the server much at all and you can release unlimited levels, should you wish too. TC. | 2011-01-06 11:29:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |
3.5m levels, times 1mb, is 3.500.000 mb (if level is near maxxed thermo) 3.500 GB 3.5 TB of levels on server. (averages, taking 1gb as 1000mb, instead of 1024). since 1 TB drive is now about 50-70 euros.. It wont be the filesize that matters, its probably the costs of upload/download. Though, if you make a level hub on your main account, you can have the linked levels on a backup account. Allowing for inf. levels with a little workaround, and a lot of accounts. | 2011-01-06 16:20:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
Luos fair enough, but doesn't the level limit bother you, I mean you make awesome levels, what happens when you publish 20 what would you do then? TC. | 2011-01-06 17:07:00 Author: timecatcher Posts: 67 |
I just delete older levels, finishing 20 top notch thermo filling levels will take you up somewhere between half a year - few year (if you have enough time), and within that time, you will learn much more about art, visuals, gameplay and what not.. meaning your earlier levels will look/play less awesome and need to be taken off the server to upload even better stuff. But for my renewal of the sack the legendary series, only the main level hub will be on my account, all the actual levels will be stored on a secondary account. So if i have enough time, I might have one account, with 20 hubs (levels) that have their linked levels on alt. accounts. | 2011-01-06 17:43:00 Author: Luos_83 Posts: 2136 |
