Shareing LBP DLC?

Archive: 9 posts

Hi, I am in the process of trying to aquire all of the LBP DLC and so far have spent about ?20. However, I have realised that in order for me to purchase everything I will have to spent well over ?100. I could get like 10 copies of the game for that nowadays! I have read that you are able to share DLC with 5 different PS3's. Does this mean I'm able to team up with 4 other people and pay a 5th of the price? Is this allowed? Thanks for any answers anyone can give me 2011-01-01 20:38:00

Gamesharing is illegal.

But to help you a bit I will say that all the DLC is unneeded, plus it would cost probably more than ?100

Your 5 activation aren't meant for game sharing. They are meant for you to play YOUR content on multiple machines.
However, activations are activations, you can do what you want with them and Sony can't tell if it's legit use or not. I know Sony can ban PSN accounts when they judge they are "game sharing". I suppose they can see where the PS3 is so if you share with someone far from your place I suppose you fall in the "game sharing" category or something. But then again I am not sure, I could have a second house for the summer and activate my stuff over there if I want to. Or I could also go to some hotel with a PS3 in another country than mine and also activate my stuff there.

Long story short, you decide if you take the risk or not.

Why do you NEED all the DLC? Only buy what you actually want. If you want all of it, then it sounds like you need to learn that you can't have everything you want for free. Yes, buying all the DLC is expensive, so if you don't want to spend that much, then don't.2011-01-01 20:56:00

I don't know why I feel I need everything, I guess 'cause I really enjoy the collecting aspect of the game so feel like I need to buy all dlc in order to truely collect it all. I just can't justify spending all that money to myself. Oh well, I'll just buy the last level kit I don't have and leave it there.2011-01-01 23:09:00

That's precisely the reason why I think it's not their way to judge. I mean, I can go on vacation and activate my stuff in another country if I feel like it. Or have a second house somewhere far from my main house and have a PS3 there too. Seriously, distance cannot be a factor or else it's really freaking dumb.

What can be a factor is distance/time though. if five PSN cards were activated on the same account from five locations that are possibly over the world or even just other ends of the country that would be suspicious. Gamesharing would be very difficult to track but which account is gamesharing, the one that has had 5 transactions in the last 3 hours from 5 different countries

Yes, distance/Time is probably their main weapon thinking about it.2011-01-05 02:57:00
