What happened to filter materials?

When the first truckload of information came about LBP2, many things were listed. But here was one thing that I have not seen again:

Filter materials ? can be placed in front of objects and everything behind them is filtered.
o Retro Neon Green outlines on black background.
o Grayscale.
o Pixelated.
o Possibly more to come.

These sounded like a really good idea but what happened to them?

It leaked via god glitch or tutorials capturing ;] it cool i actually using it in my level that i gonna publish soon.I hope there gonna be more light materials,or even extra hologram materials with different textures

Yea it's actually the glass that pixelize, can be seen in 1.02 version of lift off. God glitch not working anymore so this material is not available for creators since no body can capture it

So yes filters are still there. It's just that they haven't been offered in the beta.

X-ray material (edge detecting) FTW it's the coolest material that will be in LBP2 (so far) ^^ it will allow to make vector display effect, asteroid clones will look like real asteroid since original arcade worked on vector display

Isn't that standard behaviour with our current glass?
Because I know the glass in LBP1 does that too. Take a look at the clear glass from the PotC pack.

Well, I do know all glass in LBP is not completely smooth, but maybe they changed the way it looks now.
In any case, the glass has always deformed the view a bit.

these are the new regular glass texture/effect.

Yes there is a pixilated material in the beta.

the ONLY bad thing about these things it that they are limiting.

They take up a physical property, unlike holographic. I say make them like holographic EXACTLY but with the effect and not the light.

Who else agrees?

There are 4 that. Am aware of outline and silhouette, wich both have tweakable colour, also xray (which shows up meshes / polygons) and pixelate2011-01-03 20:39:00

While I'm a calm guy... WHY DIDN'T MM INCLUDE THE COOLEST MATERIALS? I mean, for testing you know...

Also, I found the pixel filter on a giver away level and am kinda disappointed. It casts a shadow and I was going to place it over my 3D ray caster, to give it a old school feel but it didn't look great.

Things are divided for the testers they have, and the online BETA testers I believe.
Hey, at least say we got sackbots, and most tools/ logic.

Tat WOULD be a valid argument if LBP2 was already out, and they weren't there...but how can you ask why something was scrapped if you don't even know if itwas scrapped at all, or before knowing wat was implemented into the game?

Actually, it's not such a strange question, I was wondering about them myself. I didn't notice any filters in the beta, so it's nice to hear they are there.

The OP doesn't even claim they were scrapped, does he? He just wants to know the current status.

He's asking whether or not they have been scrapped.... which makes perfect sense. It's not necessary to try and pick fault in everything posted here. The thread is a perfectly reasonable question, considering the premise of "initial info provided then almost complete silence for 6 months"
