VIP LBP3, Great Idea need feedback

Archive: 13 posts

Mm should make LBP3, next year but for vips, special creators who have the touch of genius, judged on creativity, originality, complexity, general stand outyness, no copyers no cool page naughtys, im nt sure how to do. any suggestions. BTW its lbp2 but a version for vips, so good pplz are on there own earth

Thats a great idea like a vip room. for people who have that touch of genius. i like littlebigplanet but i feel its a polished wall with graphitti all over it my plan is to start fresh with no rubbish. plain creative fun. i tend to ignore the constant friend requests and spammy messages. but it is hard to watch these people think they own the place. i only add creators artists etc, maybe 4 year olds shouldnt create at that age not because nothing good will come out of their heads. but if some one plays rates bad and throws some swears n unwanted gestures into the commeht box, it wouldnt be verry nice. i know i've had plenty like "HOW CM U GT AL TH ****** HEARTS U ******* **** OFF U *****" stuff like that. its unfair. the whole game. well all i know is that i will make long and friutfull levels until i reach the max.

A game dedicated to the best? Would be nice but how would others play it if it's only for the best?

Also, I think that's illegal or something. I could be entirely wrong.

Who decides who's a good player?
Can I appeal, if Sony decides I'm not good enough? The fact I've not made many good levels doesn't mean I couldn't.
That's not even considering the legal ramifications of this discrimination.

Where would be the money in that? Technically that's what the beta is. All the greatest creators (Except for the few that slipped under the radar) let loose on the brand new tools. They made epic stuff, cleaned up glitches, (Lol at oxford comma) and basically cleared the way for the rest of us to increase our skills.
I suppose it would be possible to make some sort of exclusive cult for the V.I.P.s but why would you want too?
If it's the spamming and copying off the cool pages than I guess you just have to live with it. Or either Media molecule will have fixed it/ You can just ignore it. All they'd be doing is cutting off the flow of new ideas and money. The best thing to do is that if you want something like this done you have to do it yourself. Want a V.I.P. LBP2? Make one. You could use locked levels along with pins, that homespun saga thing and some of your own ingenuity. Or you could just make normal LBP inhabitable for you.

No, becuase that leaves a huge hole where profits could go. It's not just creators who buy it, I've seen little kids attracted to the colourful boxart, people who enjoy playing the levels, they all buy it, which means money. Leaving them out means the money they make is gone.

It would be nice, but in reality, not going to happen.

I'm guessing the topic-starter would think that HE would get it after it comes out so that he can make "l33t l3v3ls".

Hmmm?

I'd say you would be better off adding an extra selection similar to MM picks where only the VIP's can go, i.e you have to be picked in order to have permission to have levels in there.2011-01-01 15:01:00

I will skip aside LBP3 and get to VIP idea. LBP is user-generated content game (Sony marketing those games as play, create, shere) point of those games is to everybody have access to create content and shere it with other that latter play it and rate it and game is based all around that, if it wont be for everyone it wouldn't be user-generated content game ans result it wouldn't be the same game.

I assume you don't like crap levels and survival levels... it's part of user-generated content games, it's like art, there always be someone who don't have talent, and always be some styles that you hate. If you play it you need to deal with it. You can't help that there some genres that are popular in audience, same as in gaming world for example mindless shooter games that people like and some people hate it, you just need to deal with it since you won't change that.

Besides this buity of this game, it's like art scene that have it own trends, styles and creators with specific skill levels (even if they sux), limiting this to some kind of license would kill it. It's like saying "you can't take pencil and start to draw because you suck and i don't like it"

It's human nature to always want more. LBP3 will almost definitely be better than LBP2. What with better technology ect.
Just when someone LBP1 was being released imagine if someone showed us a video of LBP2. What with LBP1 so close we shouldn't really pine for LBP2 but you can't help it.
It would definitley be out of the qustion.
The only thing I could imagine was a DLC code sent only to certain people. I mean you can't complain about the beta so you can't complain that you weren't sent a DLC code.

If a so-called VIP were the sole creative force behind community content, they would essentially be a fragmented, work@home, freelance studio... they'd be extremely stupid not to be contracted at a high price, with alot of legal jive going about royalties and profit sharing. like shadow said, it also would not be community & public domain. It would be ongoing, post-release DLC support like level packs.

The 'best' changes every few months. Imagine if LBP1's best was decided in 2008, & it was only geosautus, gevurah & x-nobody. If it was decided 2009 then Lockstitch would have been left out. If 2010 was the year, then we wouldn't get anybody "new". I agree with wev99 that it would cut off the flow of new ideas, progress & creative challenge. We'd have stagnant, albeit cleaner, content.
