My first level in LBP2 will be a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas called Adventures in Pirates Cove! 1. Overview Adventure in pirates cove will be a combination top down and side scrolling game. You sail around the map in your pirate ship but can disembark in certain locations at which point the game switches to a traditional side-scrolling perspective. It will incorporate top-down naval battles, sword fighting melee combat, AI sackbot crewmembers, quests and more. 2. Locations There will be 3 different locations where you can disembark from your ship and explore. -Buccaneer's Bay The pirate's headquarters, this is where you will be assigned most of your quests as well as where you will hire crew members and buy equipment. There are three main missions to complete, assigned to you by the three pirate lords, as well as a few side missions. completing each main quest will unlock a new level of ship to use. -The Naval base (name to be determined later) The headquarders of the British fleet which is stationed in the area. To get in will cost you dearly but once in, you'll have access to the best ships and weapons available. Who knows? play your cards right and you could end up being the new commander of the naval base. -Tribal village (name to be determined later) A tribal village ruled by the original inhabitands of these Islands. whether they will be you friends or foes is up to you. Both options have their benefits. Controls While sailing: L-stick= Move R1=Fire 1 starboard cannon R2= Fire all starboard cannons L1=Fire one port cannon L2=Fire all port cannons While on land: L-stick=Move Square= Attack X=Jump Triangle= Throw bombs More to be determined later I'll add some more info when I come up with it. I've figured out most of the logic and gameplay so you can expect it to come out a couple of months after LBP2 comes out. Any feedback and criticism is greatly appreciated. P.S. Sounds like a great idea. Looking forward to playing it. I like the idea of mixing the top-down and side-scrolling views.
