How do u pass the stick near the white lady?

You need to get the flute from her, then you can go back to the beginning where the house with the guy is.
after that, you can use the "bridgebuilder" to the right of the white lady.
I just KNEW nobody would get that

Feedback!

Music/Sound Effects: The music worked nicely, and had the mysterious feel that suited the level. I noticed a few sound effects, I liked especially the ones that gave a sense of foreboding, which really added to the intrigue of the story.

Visuals: Brilliant, the people were corner-edited perfectly, and the houses too. The level had a unique visual style which made me think of a cross between Zen and Sprocket town, particularly in some of the designs. The only part where you corner-editing slipped was at the very end, where the finish looked a bit messy. The background joins could of been annoying, but I noticed the used of gradient stickers which took advantage of it and gave it a pattern. The large sections horrible gas didn't look that nice, but horrible gas never does. If you have any thermo left I would suggest covering it with another material to about a LBP centimetre from the edge, as you sort of did with the platforms. Talking of platforms, they looked great, the white border gave an almost arty vide, and the wonky corner edits really gave the level some character.

Gameplay: Great, the platforming was interesting, but it was the puzzles that shone. They were a different take of other ideas, and the invisible gas maze was awesome, but hard. It took me several goes to get past it, but I didn't get the crazy frustration that you sometimes feel with other different obstacles. It also reminded me of a puzzle in Legend of Zelda, I don't know if thats where you got your inspiration from though. The 'flute' idea was clever too, however I have one nitpick. The bomb emitter in the demitting logic I think you used kept going off, the regular explosions sounded a bit strange. Why not set the emitter to only emit one next time? Other than that I really like the gameplay and how it fitted with the story...

Story: Wow, this was really good. The mysterious atmosphere was captured just right and the suspense grew as you continued through the level. The writing of the wall, coupled with the sound effects was awesome. You didn't reveal everything, so kept the player curious as to what was going to happen next, and the sneaky end to the level really left you wanting the next part of the series.

Summery: Superb level, the story and visuals were great, as was the gameplay. Only few things needed a little more polishing and this level would be perfect. Well deserved creator heart. I would say it was a little short, but I can totally sympathise with that. Now create the sequel already!

Oh yeah, and don't worry about F4F, I don't need any.

Woohoo that was a very long feedback.
I?m glad you liked it
I actually noticed the thing with the bombs very often, I knew i forgot something
I will probably fix these issues to make the level better.
The background was harder to make than it looks:
There were only orange stickers thet had a white line around them, so I tried to cover these up with the gradient stickers.
It didn?t work that well, but there was no better way to do it.
Thanks for the feedback!

@cheezebo:
I wondered if I should add a hint feature to make the level easier, but then I thought that actually sackboy says VERY much things that should point the player in the right direction. As said, I should make it easier and more polished and will re-publish it better in about an hour.

oh great, dizzy beat me to it!
5 stars and a heart,
edit: one bomb only needed to be emitted
oh and also, you should press the thanks button for dizzy's post - your green bar goes up when when you do that or when you get thanked.
I haven't got past the strange fog yet.
I hope you have some wedding music sometime.

shame those randoms gave it 3 stars jus' because they didn't read the magic mouth and figure out to go to the guy in the chair. rarh!

edit: no F4F(I needn't any) but I'm not stopping you LOL

Yeah, I know what its like with backgrounds Wertpol, several of my levels have had them... I generally end up with one huuuuuge piece, but one wrong detach/delete and it messes up the whole thing, not to mention the creator lag. I would make it look deliberate, as in a sort of checkerboard pattern, they actually look quite cool in my opinion. But thats your decision. 2010-12-30 12:34:00

whew that took longer than I thought!
But now a "patch" of the level is published, with better graphics and its easier to know where to go next.

Ah yes, and since there are pretty much no comments or views at the official evernight thread, here is the second trailer picture:28801

Evernight
Wertpol
Score:8.3/10
Rating: :star::star::star::star::star:

Part 1. You wake up at a dark city. You don't know how you got here. And you don't know how to escape.

Story:
Story was somewhat good, but it wasn't really built on after though and at the end I totally forgot about it and was like "what?" 7/10

Gameplay:
Gameplay was very good, but simple for where you had it. The balloon worked like a charm and was pretty fun, but challenging at the same time. There was some parts that could have been executed better, but overall it was very good. 8.5/10

Music/Fx:
Music was a very good selection, but there were maybe 1 or 2 sound Fx that I was able to here but not much more. 5.5/10

Asthetic:
Asthetics were amazing! I like the tone that you put on the level with the silhouette and the orange background. Corner editing was really good. The whole setting that you made was great. 10/10

Originality:
Story and level was very original. You used the glass/fog glitch in a very new way with the maze; that was pretty cool. Most of the gameplay I'd seen before though. 8.5/10

Misc.:
Everything work pretty well, and the Balloon work perfectly. Earlier in the level it was really confusing on where to go and stressful. 8/10

Wertpol comes out with and very good level. With great visuals and originality, Wertpols levels should be a must play in the future if he keeps it up.

Hey on a side note fix your level so people can find where to go I got lost a lot.

Thanks for the feedback random! I love seeing the level getting plays
About the confusing beginning: I wonder if you played the patched version, because I already tried to make it easier with that...
but how should I make it easier when she already sais that you should go back and then return?
That is a case for...
...
umm...
nevermind.

How about... "I see that the man by the desk back there may have some information."

And if you have time you may want to put some point bubbles to increase replay value. Bubbles=More Plays

Oh no! The patch USED TO give more help but it got the red screen of death...
And I forgot to do that again...
I will fix that now...

BTW:I just didn?t want to add score bubbles since I thought they would destroy the atmosphere.

EDIT:Fixed!

I didn't even notice the lack of point bubbles. I didn't get what to do at first too, before I had the idea of heading backwards to wake up the person with the flute.2010-12-30 20:22:00

First off, allow me to be honest here: I never actually finished the level. I'm cramped on time today (my own fault, but still) and I don't have time to memorize a path through gas clouds. I worry that your normal players will quit here too - no one likes having to take time in real life for a game, and that's what you're making most people do here - go, get a pen and paper, and write down a path. That aside, what I did see here was great. Your corner editing was phenomenal, calling to mind jump-button's beautiful black and white world. The world you created flows, much like a painting, and that makes it all that much more fun to play. Gameplay thus far is a bit basic, but enjoyable due to the aforementioned flow. The story is by far the best part. The closest anyone has ever come to creating a good story is salieri's Cell 13 level, and that was just "Oh btw the monster traps you at the end". The posters I saw have me excited for what's to come - it looks spooky. Well then, perhaps I'll give you more feedback later, but for now you'll have to be satisfied with five stars. ;-)2010-12-30 22:37:00

yeah, proper feedback now.
i do not have the words to tell you how awesome evernight is.
it is comparable only to human sacrifice, marmite and togas!
it is almost as awesome as a pigeon!

i gave it 5 stars and a heart.
ps i am very strange and i know that

Thanks for the feedback people!
Awesome that you liked my level BlueBulletBill, although that means that you were not as critical and strict as I was when giving feedback to your levelThe thing with paper and pen is a problem, but I think that I can`t avoid that. I just really liked the idea of the puzzle, and just HAD to use it. In the second level of the series this will be even more bad, because there wil be very many different "infos" spread about in the level.
@unXpectiD:
In my opinion, strange people are the coolest. That?s why I love to bake mah jelly paperstone. Its just so nice seeing it melting in the microwave.

Also, I'll leave you some free brief feedback tomorow. Is this your 1st level? Sorry, I haven't heard much of you until now.

This looks amazing for a psp lbp level, I can see you spent a LOT of time making the shapes, it all looks very natural. Sadly I'm stuck on the white woman who says 'follow me' - I try grabbing the stick that seems to have fallen into the gas but get unstuck. Maybe I'm being slow - where do I go? I'd appreciate it if you give my psp level 'Back in time for tea' a whirl, but don't worry about feedback 2011-01-13 18:38:00
