LBP1 levels in LBP2

Quick question... okay I know all lbp1 published lvls will appear in lbp2 but will lbp2 render the lbp1 lvl as if it were a lvp2 level or no? Just as an example, when playing a lbp1 lvl in lbp2 would something such as dark matter be animated or still? The reason I ask is because I have quite a few levels using different lighting effects that to be honest in lbp2 look nowhere near as good ><. I would imagine that because they are on the lbp1 servers they will be rendered as a lbp1 level, but it also is possible lbp2 will read it as a lbp2 game... Does anyone know the answer to this or will I just have to wait til the full game comes out? | 2010-12-30 04:58:00 Author: Koolieo Posts: 68 |
It all comes down to the client you use to load the LBP1 level. If you load it in LBP2, you are playing by the rules of LBP2. If you load It in LBP1, you are playing by the LBP1 rules. It is simply the client (LBP1 or 2) reading a file from a server that happens to be in this case, an LBP1 level. Since you say you are in the Beta, then yup you have seen exactly what I am talking about that stuff does look a bit different in LBP2. It might improve from what we have seen in the Beta, but we really have no clue until the real game comes out. | 2010-12-30 05:07:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
It will work like an lbp1 level but the lighting might screw up a couple levels and if you try to fix it up in lbp2 it might be harder than you think. | 2010-12-30 05:07:00 Author: Lgjoka2002 Posts: 538 |

Dark matter will be animated. the lights will probably need to be changed (trust me, they are not like lbp1). No it depends on a game, not a server. The server holds the levels, thats it. the graphics behind it are due to the game. If the game changes so must the level. Btw, all the levels are on the same server (lbp2 and 1). I'm in the beta, these things all happened to me when i transfered my file (which is basicly what the server is constently going to do.) Don't worry though. Not much will change. + if you want the old lighting system back, there is an option to set the fog at 400% which is lbp1 style fog you in the full game Good luck to | 2010-12-30 05:07:00 Author: a_mailbox Posts: 416 |

Yeah. traditionally at the end of my levels i use the tweakable laser on a piston connected to dark matter with a magnetic key component on it. The magnetic key attached to the tweakable laser is set to speed and when copying these in different colors, changing the sync setting, and placing them behind the other and 1 medium grid space up creates a amazing color spectrum effect! ...if you followed that big run-on sentence >< | 2010-12-30 05:24:00 Author: Koolieo Posts: 68 |
Well here example from my levels More Logical Survival Game: Before patch 1.02 lighting looked compliantly different, after patch it looks better... but still too dimmer, ruining arrow lights. There also no light leaks to unused player caminets... which is actually better. So it's good example of possible lightining incompatibility LBP1: http://beta.lbp.me/img/ft/aae716613da89f1d775eea2b1fdca93ed9d2dd86.jpg LBP2: http://beta.lbp.me/img/ft/e582d0b2b25870448071860d91cec5cf5e6ac368.jpg CALTRON: Well it looked better, MGS material had lighter blue, also added glass shader deformation makes it number looks diffrent. Same as survival, light are much dimmer LBP1: http://beta.lbp.me/img/ft/eb790a07c2d7749e4e08f14e85215a9435319ea8.jpg LBP2: http://beta.lbp.me/img/ft/bce67fb655af6c98570e328933ec6866a0a9ed52.jpg | 2010-12-30 14:39:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
Gas is different to, no? If it's how I think it is (more cloudy and puffy), then I'll have to change it to fire in Explosive Adventures, it'll look awful the way it is now. | 2010-12-30 14:52:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |

I have a question. Once LBP2 comes out, could I take a level that I made in LBP1 and update it with LBP2 tools like holograms and powerups? | 2011-01-01 16:48:00 Author: Scifiguy Posts: 95 |
I have a question. Once LBP2 comes out, could I take a level that I made in LBP1 and update it with LBP2 tools like holograms and powerups? Sure can! ..When you publish it, the level will take a slot up in your LBP2 quota. | 2011-01-01 16:57:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Ofcorse you can import your whole moon with whole LBP1 profile, so you can have levels that you didn't even published,i suppose coping copiebale LBP1 level will also work. Of corse both LBP1 and LBP2 profiles are sperated so you don't need to worry that some level on LBP1 moon will become accessible in LBP1 because you edit it in LBP2. Only online profile (assign to PSN name) is common to both games. | 2011-01-01 16:58:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
