The Caption Contest - ROUND 50!!!!!

All rise, the 50th round of the Caption Contest is in session! YAY!! We made it!!!!
That's right, The official LBPC Caption Contest has just hit the 50th round! That is over one year of goodness and fun which a testament to one of the longest running community contests on LBPC.

Never heard of the Caption Contest?! If you have skip on down to the next paragraph. If not, well.. every round a new set is developed in our deep underground laboratories, handcrafted by our expert creators. The stage is then set with actors as well as sackbots and an HD picture is taken. That resulting picture is the blank slate for which you to craft your whimsical sentiment to the image and enter up to two per round. Funniest caption takes home 250xp, 2nd place 100xp and 3rd 50xp. (except for this special round)

Those of you that have entered and followed The Caption Contest these past 18 or so month, we thank you for keeping this alive and participated, even if you've simply gotten a good chuckle from reading through all the entries.

Some of you may know that Sage first revived / started this contest back in June of 2009. Even he can't remember who originated it, but he took on two judges, Zwollie and Dorien and the Caption Contest was again born and started with round 1. Later that year, Sage handed the keys over to Zwollie who later that year for Halloween, ran our first ever Home Brew captions thus departing from the dwindling amount of Mm pics that were normally used in the contest. That is the time that Zwollie invited me (jwwPhotos) into the judges seat and to also help build the past 30 some caption sets along with the help of the illustrious TheCountessZ. Around January 2010, Zwollie departed LBPC and left the keys to me. From that point on, I have co ran the contest with the help of TheCountessZ and turned it from a weekly contest to a two week per round format. It has been an extreme privilege to bring this great contest that has inspired and made people laugh for well over a year.

For our 50th round rather than coming up with a new caption set, we have decided to stir the tiles and reach back in the archives! We will not feature one picture, but three pictures each for it's own contest!!! Three times the fun for everyone! So that means you can enter all three contests and have up to two captions for each picture! This special contest will run for a whole month, but instead of having it's usual podium of first, second and third, there will only be one winner for each picture for 500XP. That also means if you are really good with your entries, you could actually have a chance of winning all three contests!! So lets get into all the rules and such!

The premise is simple; whoever places the best caption on the provided LBP images wins! The caption could be a thought going through the characters' heads, or something the characters are saying, or even a short story leading up to the picture! It can practically be anything you want, as long as it's clean and abides by the forum rules.

NOTE: Humor is the only way to win!

This 50th round official 3 pictures will be posted below and you have ONE MONTH (Jan 29th) before the thread is locked for judging. Once the next round commences, a new picture will be posted, and the winners from the previous round shall be announced.

Rules "50th Round only":


Only two captions per user PER PIC! (you do not have to post them all at the same time). You may have up to six entries, but only two entries per person for each picture!!!



Image editing/manipulating (Photoshopping/GIMP-ing) is allowed.



Awards will be handed out at the end of the round, usually on a Saturday after the month time limit for this rounds special time limit. At that time, the image for the next round will be displayed. Reminder!!! Only the 1st place result for each picture will be awarded XP or mentioned.



Post the pictures on this thread, there will be no gallery section but they will be archived when the round is over.
Image needs to be around the same size as the original for legibility. Smaller ones will be accepted, but if they cannot be read and you cannot fix your entry, then it will be horribly hard to judge and probably will not win. You are more then welcome to get with me to give you help, plus I have a handy how to up above!


PLEASE AVOID ATTACHEMENTS! They are either too small or I cannot archive them easily. Sometimes they work fine, but more times than not I have to struggle with them.

It started right around when I registered... So I THINK it was august 2008... I think the old threads have been deleted over time, and I know that the counter was reset when Sage took over... I paid about as much attention to it then as I do now, so I just know it started sometime in August 08 and continue until before Scythe left in around December 08 :/		2010-12-29 19:25:00

Are you trying to copy the filepath to the image from your computer into the image tags? You have to put a URL direct to the image into the img tags, which means you have to upload your picture to the internet first. LBPC can't check in your personal computer files for the picture 		2010-12-29 22:06:00

Leave comment? I just use the quick reply box as it has all the goodies you need. If that isn't showing up due to your browser, then you can try just manually doing the image tags like this.

Just put them in a reply. If you have issues with posting a pic, just use the image tag icon (the little icon that looks like a pic of a tree) up above the quick reply window. Then just put the URL to where you have the pic hosted, like photobucket etc.		2010-12-30 01:38:00

For Anyone Having Trouble Posting An Image On The Thread

Step 1 - Go to the website www.tinypic.com
Step 2 - Hit the "Browse" button and search for your picture on your computer (where you have saved the picture) *Keep the File Type as Image*
Step 3 - Hit the "Upload" button.
Step 4 - Copy and Paste the one labeled "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"
Step 5 - Come back to this thread and past the code you copied on the very bottom of the page under the "Quick Reply" box.
Step 6 - Hit "Post Quick Reply"

And presto, your image SHOULD be on the thread now.

By the way, I used TinyPic because you don't need to sign up or have an account. But it should work the same with PhotoBucket.		2010-12-30 02:22:00

Well.. the problem is, I really can't read them clearly. If you host them on photobucket and just stick the direct link to them using the Insert Image icon, it really works great. I just can't allow attachments (actually in the rules) I can't read. We really want you to be judged fairly for your humor and having it the same size as everyone else and legible is so much easier.

Wow!! Quite a few last day entries. ....Should we extend it a week or maybe till tomorrow?

Otherwise I think we are closing this down at noon NY time. (little less than 3 hours from now)

We still have to come up with a new caption as well as judge all these great entries!!!

Update!..

Contest is still locked for judging. As it turns out there were 129 total entries which is more than we could have ever hoped!! Heck it took me almost 3 hours to break all the entries down and store them on photobucket! lol

Because of that, it is going to take much longer than we initially realized to fairly judge them all in their respective pic contests.

We do have the next rounds pic done.. so as soon as we can get the judging wrapped up, we will post the winners as well as the next round! We hope Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
