High School Levels

| So, it's been a while since I was on the LBPcentral page, mostly because my co-creator no longer has a copy of LBP...so I took a much needed break from LBP. Now I've decided to check back at what I remember as the most comprehensive and inclusive web-site devoted to LBP creations. When I left, the people on this page were denouncing bomb survivals and railing terribly against H4H. Now I return, and you know what I find? You'd think "an awesome level with cool background, awesome platforming, great mechanics and solid action overall!!!"....well, yeah, I found a lot of that, but there is a demon, I feel, lurking in the background... | Here's an idea. . .don't play them? If you don't play them then there's nothing to complain about. This rant is very much un-needed. Here's the problem: Not playing them is easy, you just don't load them. The aggravating thing is that LBP in general has so much potential, and with only 20 levels represented on a page at a time, it becomes incredibly difficult for any level other than H4H, Bomb Survival, 100+Trophies, and My High School Level to get noticed/played....if I remember correctly, that was the original purpose of LBPcentral. Not a rant, good sir, just an opinion. To each their own, the people that make those levels feels like they did something amazing at the end of the day, you can't take that feeling away from them. It's like taking away someones happiness after just winning a grand prize. They spent their time on the level and I'm pretty sure hearing things like "omg gtfo this level suckz0rz klawl" is the last thing they want to hear after they've finished their 'Masterpiece'. Sir. My question, then, is this: High School ----- Levels???? Really? Hmmm....I think I hear the bomb-survival levels laughing.... | I agree entirely that people are more than entitled to enjoy playing and creating whatever levels suits their fancy. That is indeed what LBP is all about, and I wouldn't begrudge anyone an ounce of satisfaction when the day is over, regardless of my personal opinion of the level style. It's really the level quality I'm against, as in many cases these levels are poorly and hastily put together, with sloppy writing, looks, and logic. It's the same problem I had against bomb-survival levels in general; the concept is great, but the execution is more often than not a failed half-effort. I don't applaud that, no matter how much people want me too. The purpose of feedback is to make you a better creator, not make you feel warm and fuzzy. That being said, I've NEVER, and would never, leave a plainly bull-headed "you're level SUCKS" message (least of all in l33t-speak or whatever people are calling it; ugh)...I'm speaking more in general of the developing abundance of smeg out there that people are consistently getting commendations for...and I have personally received "UR LVL SCKS" messages for my month and two month long efforts, respectively. Oh, and I meant the "High School Levels? ??" as more of a "can someone confirm this????" stylized disbelief...hence, in the form, it was a question..rhetorical questions are meant not to be answered.  | 2010-12-28 20:47:00 Author: EvilWuun Posts: 152 |

| Absolutely not, my work is substandard compared to the two mentioned, no doubt! I'm only irritated by the lack of effort on an obviously large scale. I think we're essentially saying the same thing: That whatever style level you want to make is up to you, that's the beauty of LBP, just DO YOUR BEST!!!! That's all I'm getting at.
