Wobble Bolts

Archive: 3 posts

Along with Synchronizing Objects, the other problem I'm having is understanding exactly how to tweak Wobble Bolts.

I understand that rotation orients which area the object will wobble, and the angle covers how wide that area is. What I don't understand is that the green area that shows your wobble area doesn't seem to actually correspond with the area your object is wobbling in.

In addition to this, there are three green lines, which we could call Left-point (the leftmost outer line), Center-point (the center line), and Right-point (the right line). For synchronization purposes, when your object starts wobbling, is its starting point at Center, Left, or Right-point?

Thanks again!

Yeah im not sure why it doesnt match the orange line. What you have to do i think is have your object at exactly 90 degrees, and then adjust it from there.
Also Snchronize (IDK) is for two the same object starting at diffrent times. If you have two swings, and you set one a second later, it will swing a second out of time from the other one, but it will still swing just as far, and pause for just as long.

Yeah, it's kind of weird how it works, the orange line shows how your object will move, and the left and right green lines are point A and B. It'll take some getting used to for learning how they move but they correspond weird, like you said.

As for the synchronizing, I'm not sure, I believe you have to have them all facing a certain direction, like for example.

You have 4 arrows, and you want them to do a clockwise 360. You have them all start pointing upwards, and synch them from there. Usually, when you want to sync something, you have them all have the same settings ( speed, strength, etc )

As for the starting point, it always resets itself to either the left or right, I don't think the center line has anything to do with it other then it is there to show you what type of angle you have.

I just tried it with wobble bolts, and it was really interesting, for some reason, if I set the synchronization to 0.0, 1.0, and 2.0 with 4.0 speed. the 0.0 and 2.0 would move the same, and the 1.0 would be moving a second earlier/later. But that doesn't happen with pistons. Really weird.
