Woohoo! Ive got an PS3 to Christmas.. and I can get a free game to it today! I really want to try Little big planet but Ive heard that the 2nd is coming in a month. So would it be waste to buy Little big planet 1 today or should I get the 2nd one? I am afraid of.. if I buy it now then no one will be online and everyone leaves after the release of Little big planet 2!

just wait 3 weeks or so its not that long LBP2 you can play all the old user levels

Whew... that is a tough decision. 3 weeks is quite a long time not to be able to gad about. I think if you can find an old copy, even if you wait till after LBP2 comes out to find it even cheaper you should, as the original story levels are well worth the price of admission.

If you buy LBP1 today, will you still be able to buy LBP2 release date? If so, I'd say go for it. The Story levels, again, are quite good. It'll also give you a chance to see if you like LBP enough before buying the sequel. You'd probably need to play LBP1 to unlock all the stickers and materials from LBP1 anyway, and you can always trade the first one in when LBP2 comes out.

I would buy LBP1 and complete it. The story mode is nice + will make you collect PLENTY of stuff you might actually use in LBP2 afterward when creating. All you do in LBP1, levels, objects and whatnot are not lost and will transfert to LBP2. Now don't worry about buying LBP2 at the release date or not. This obsession of buying a game the day it comes out is pretty crazy. LBP2 will last looooong. Buy it later when you can.

If the free game is anything, I'd get something else that's more expensive and find LBP1 for cheap, then get 2 on release. Complete LBP1, then you'll have the stuff for LBP2.
