Naughty Turbo Pack Materials

Archive: 17 posts

I've heard that some of the materials in the Turbo Pack can cause some bad problems. Could someone let me know which materials these are? I just got it...2010-12-27 03:13:00

Umm..

All of them. The stickers and background and musics are fine, so it's not too bad.

Then again, it varies. If you're lucky you could capture a sample of the material. Place the object and then use the corner editor. Capturing sometimes debugs it.2010-12-27 03:22:00

Wait...exactly what is the bug that makes the Turbo materials so messed up? (As in, what happens?)2010-12-27 03:27:00

It takes infinity minutes to load your level. (in other words, the level stays on the loading screen, but never loads!)2010-12-27 03:30:00

oh yeah, I used orange plastic and it didn't corrupt. I wouldn't take any chances though. :/
Iv'e seen that cameo cameflage in one of sketchNZ's levels, and the sand too somewhere else.
but like I said, best not to take any chances.

The white plastic is okay to use. It's practically the only material I used in Isla Moya. And I used it as my snow in my 12 doc levels.

The green weave grabable material is good. I used it as grass in Jimmy's Room, and I used it in Lil Racer. And the striped knit grabable is okay, I used it in both levels too.

Stay away from blue plastic. It is trouble. It's burned me before.

However, if you are paranoid, and I can't blame you if you are, stay away from them all.

Hey, Silver is right, the stickers, background and music have never caused anyone problems, but I'm still not sure about what velcro said. There was a huge investigation thread a few months ago Ace started, and I think it was Custard who finally did a successful test to get the bug working on a level and he used all the materials to get it. I think that material wise it varies with different peoples account or something, you you may find some to usually work, but don't trust them! always back up your level every few saves when using the materials in case they cause infinite load. I got it once from using too much sand material in a level, and i also know that blue and orange plastic never work for long. hope this helps!2010-12-28 22:22:00

Hmm, so this is still not solved? I got the pack in PS+, I'll have to pay attention not to accidentally use any materials then.

By the way, the humour and the silliness of the levels reminded me of someone... did Taffey have anything to do with the design of those levels?

Yeah, but you can still use everything else. No Taffey didn't do anything.2011-01-02 21:52:00

Never heard of that... crazy. I use loads of Turbo! Stickers. Sure hope that doesn't happen to me. Also, I know for sure that most of the Turbo! Materials can cause the bug. So, I steer clear of all of them.

Here's the deal.

The only EXACT 4 you cannot use is the Dirty Metal, and the red, blue and yellow wood.
They all usually corrupt a level when corner edited.

ALL other materials from the Turbo! is alright in Moderation.

By moderation I mean one Turbo! material per level.
If you combine a few together in one level it corrupts it.
